So Brexit seems to be a good thing then.

So, you introduced the link between the EU, Schengen and serious crime.
I was answering your post of 5780 where you compiled them together.
All I posted was "...Good job we are out of the EU then" (post 5775)
And made no other comment on the subject
It was yourself that started liking the three subject matters together
My reply to your post of 5780 was that my job does use and take into account aspects of Schengen - in reference to your comment of "...Please tell me you are not involved with investigating serious crime!"

Germany taking in sick people from France, Italy and Spain is every man for itself.
Striving to keep supply chains open accross the EU is every man for itself.
Closing all external EU borders while keepin internal EU borders open is every man for itself.
Aiding the repatriation of EU citizens from other member states us every man for itself.
Just because you don't hear anything about it in the British press, doesn't mean it's not happeneing. Soldarity is at the heart of the EU and it's working well! The UK has now left, they no longer get the same help!

Yeah, cos you know, the ECB taking action to shore up the Euro Zone is every man for itself.

The efforts you list are not sanctioned by the EU but each country acting in it own individual volition .

EU collective decisions, as ever happen so slowly that each country has no choice to act of thier own accord in crisis situations.
What I was inferring to was something that Alain Lamassoure a former France MEP said several years ago, highlighted the everyman for himself phenomenon in previous crisis events: https://www.europeaninstitute.org/~e...mself-syndrome

In 100 years, Germany fought WW1...went bankrupt yet built the capital to fight WW2 two decades later. Fought WW2, went bankrupt, paid for reunification of East Germany and still by 2000 became the leading power-house in Europe. Maybe we should sit back and listen to them and let them guide us sometimes.

They had a go twice with war, now with financial muscle to do the same.

A war mongering and power crazed country? Oh the irony! You have just described us, France, Spain, Germany, Italy.........
And 'they had a go twice with war', oh dear, do you read The Sun? Try reading some history to see what the wars were really about, and who actually started the first one. I'm not defending Germany's war record, but really.

You would like the rest of Europe to listen and obey a war mongering power crazed country. Im not disagreeing with German industrious attitude, lots of countries could learn a fair bit from their work ethic. Its just their 'lets take over' attitude.

I've lived in Germany for 20 years and haven't seen it either! It's a myth that only exist in the UK particularly those with the "two world wars and one world cup" mentality!
