So Brexit seems to be a good thing then.

They are just having a break before making a mess of it again and getting to Haloween with no plan, again.

So, the EU elections are definitely happening to elect all those un-elected folks in Brussels!

Apparently all the Conservative candidates are leave supporters, so they're are trying to take the leave vote away from UKIP/Brexit party! I actually hope they are successful as I really don't want to see Farage re-elected!

Remember, its proportional representation in the European Parliament Elections, so you don't have to vote for either of the main parties and your vote will still equally count. Splitting the vote is also not a major problem as they don't sit in their domestic parties but rather in politically aligned multinational groups. Often MEPs from one UK party may actually be split between different groups in the parliament - for example Conservative MEPs are currently split between the EPP and ECR groups.

I'm hoping for a similar result as the local elections with a big shift to the centre/remain parties; Lib Dem, Change UK and Greens and huge losses to the leave/undecided parties; Conservatives, Labour and UKIP/Brexit.

With any luck it will force a leadership battle in labour so they can at least field a decent opposition.

Maybe.

That is the biggest joke about all this. If Labour had a decent leader, they could and should be cleaning up right now, but both of the major parties have completely lost the plot!

If you're missing it that badly you can always get your fix with tonight's documentary, Storyville: Brexit Behind Closed Doors, starting on BBC4 at 9 pm: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0004vyd

Should be interesting to see things from a different perspective...

I think we can safely predict lots of shrugged shoulders and perplexed expressions.

Very interesting program, looking forward to the second part. Sadly airing it on BBC4 means that few Brexiteers will actually get to see it!

Did people see farridge interview with Andrew Marr

Thought was quite funny asking all those filler questions - provoking full strop-on

funniest bit was farridge almost tacked on last gasp " get back our fishing rights"

Yes, I saw that and he totally refused to answer any questions about his past lies that have now been proven to be true. The funniest bit was when he said "that is all in the past, I want to talk about now", so basically "lets not talk about my previous lies, I now have some new lies to tell you!". Hes now also trying to claim that he came out with the phrase "no deal is better than a bad deal" and said it every day during the referendum campaign. Personally, I don't remember him ever saying it back then, and Andrew Marr also couldn't remember him ever saying it. He came out with the same claim on QT on Thursday. He seemed to bring along his fan club to QT too, I can't ever remember a QT with such an undisciplined and one sided audience before.

Yes, after watching last Thursday's QT I was convinced that the audience had been infiltrated by Brexit Party members.

I was a QT audience member a few years back and from the forms and questionnaires that I had to complete and my telephone interview there seemed to be quite strenuous efforts to try to get a politically and ethnically representative audience.

I'm not sure what happened last week but the audience definitely seemed to be full of Farage supporters.

or is it perhaps the majority of folks support his position on the subject so it will come across that way. Just because you don't like his views doesn't mean the majority feel the same, rightly or wrongly.

If they know the system and are organised, it wouldn't be difficult to infiltrate the audience.

The Brexit Party, just like UKIP before hand, once again just seems to be the Farage show. The only person I've seen on TV is Farage, all the rest of them are kept out of sight and never questioned, so we really don't know where anyone or the party as a whole really stands other than the frontman!

Once Farage left UKIP and the others were allowed to make appearances and speak in public, it was very clear that they were pretty much all racist, extreme right wing biggots. One assumes the Brexit party is of the same ilk, given that many are anyway UKIP defectors. The only other "known" member is Rees-Moggs sister, but I've never heard her speak and really know nothing about her.

Farage only ever talks about what he thinks is wrong with the EU, but never really says what he stands for on the various important issues and how he will fight for those issues in the European parliament - which I suppose is fitting as he has the lowest attendance record of anyone in the European parliament that has been there for the entire sitting. He likes to shout a lot, but he has no real plan about how to fix it, and in any case no intention of trying to fix anything!

I can still count. I don't call less than 30% the majority.

Look beyond what he says on camera and ask yourself who is Nigel Farage really? Who are the rest of his party and why don't you hear anything from them?

It's indubitably clear that's what he meant.

I realised this so readily I had no need to ask.

I don't give a dam what some two face politician says. I don't need to look beyond what someone says on telly, i have the result of a real world vote. A Vote where the majority chose to leave the EU, and before you say no they didn't. Yes they did, some people chose to vote to leave, some chose to vote to remain, some chose not to vote at all, which was their right, yet you seem to want to vote for them.

By majority of vote, we voted to leave. you can't argue with that as it is a fact.

One of the few that both sides can't argue or spin, yet the remainers seem to try to because they didn't like the result.

Yes, I have to agree that a slim majority of people who voted in the referendum voted to leave! Not going to argue with you on that point!

So please tell me how electing Farage/Brexit party to the EU will be a good vote for the UKs interests in the European parliament?

Farages record shows he's done nothing other than waste tax payers money and neglect his role as an elected MEP. He's done nothing to fight for Britains interests in the parliament as he is rarely then and even when he is, he even rarely takes parts in any votes. When he served on a committee, he never turned up for a single committee meeting!

If you want to register your vote for Brexit in the European elections, then you can vote for Conservatives. A Labour vote could also be counted as a vote for Brexit as officially they still support respecting the referendum result. As long as we remain in the EU, then surely you would want MEPs from the UK to speak up for the UK and fight for the best deal and neither the Brexit party or UKIP will do that as their previous records show! Don't be misguided by the whole splitting the vote argument either, the EU elections are proportional representation, so whoever you vote for the vote counts equally. Its not hard to count up the votes for 'leave' parties and the vote for 'remain' parties and see where the country lies! Whatever number of Euro-MPs each party gets is also irrelevant as they don't sit under their UK parties in the European parliament but rather politically aligned groups which the MEP chooses himself rather than having to follow a party line - the current Conservatives, Labour and UKIP/Brexit party MEPs are each split between two respective parliamentary groups.

i dont give a toss about that tw*t!

Its not rocket science, they have one policy, which is what people are voting for at the min because they feel let down.

Sadly the UK only sees the euro elections as a protest vote. The irony is voting for Farage or not voting at all and then complaining about the EU being unelected and forcing regulations on us!

You'd be better off voting meaningfully in the EU elections and using a general election as a protest vote!

Theresa May flies the Union Flag upside down as she meets Macron...!

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/video/ne...extremism.html

To deliberately fly the flag upside down is a signal indicating a situation of 'DISTRESS'. It is also "Lese Majeste" (which means: insulting the Crown), and is theoretically still a crime in the UK and its commonwealth

Thanks for that reminder, albob.

I’ll remember not to wear my Union Jack underpants inside out.

Wouldn’t want to risk arrest now, would I.
