Hmmmmmm, the usual suspects out in force saying what a crap/stupid/unbelievable result this is.

It's not. I predicted it at the start, just as I predicted Brexit.

And it's come about because another nation has become tired of being talked down to, told what to think, what can and can't be said, what to believe, taking orders from those who are offended on others' behalf, liars, and those who favour minorities over the majority, and last, but certainly not least, the "do as we say, not as we do" brigade. Yep...socialists.

Next stop, Germany, then France.

Watch this space.

A stopped clock is right twice a day. And being opposed to neo-fascism does not a socialist make.

American presidents generally achieve 75 percent of what they proposed at the outset !
The only one people voted him for is to restore lower middle class jobs . At any cost

I've spent over a quarter of the last year working out of Virginia and the result today is not in the least bit surprising. All I have seen from the British press is the demonising of Trump and the beautification of Clinton and very little substantial fact that I've seen in the US press that has dealt with the real issues.

Trump is far from ideal but he touched many points that drew in the silent masses that have been marginalised under so-called progressive left-leaning government.

The real problem now is that there is no balance with the Republican party controlling the Presidency, the Senate and Congress.

My thought exactly.

His first trip could be to Russia; to celebrate his win with his silent-ish admirer Putin. They'll get p7$$ed on the vodka together and have a disco to celebrate.

Remember Blair-Bush comedy memes? We may soon be seeing ample TrumPutinian memes on the internet.

I think Putin will be holding his breath and wondering what the hell will happen now. I doubt Putin and Trump will be exchanging bodily fluids or showering together any time soon.

I knew Americans were stupid but never realised this stupid. He will make George Dubaya look a genius in comparison To think this idiot as of January will have his finger over the big red button is not a pleasant thought.

I doubt very much will change outside of the US. If anything, it will probably improve relations with the West and Russia which would certainly be a good thing, and America is now likely to interfere less with the rest of the world which may actually boost their popularity internationaly! Whilst it is another victory for populist politics, I think that is where the similarity to Brexit ends! Brexit was a much bigger f**k up with longer lasting consequences - There will be another presidential election in 4 years, we're stuck with Brexit a lot longer than that!

LOL, not so.

Dubya was a thick man living off his family's $billions.
Trump is self made, so far from stupid.

The left have only themselves to blame.

yes this maybe one good thing as a result

although he did say he was going to carpet bomb ISIS

I suspect Trade deals with the US will be harder

and interests rates set to stay on hold apparently - good for the asset owning class

Google Fred Trump. Don't worry, you can keep posting wrong things and eventually you'll hit the jackpot.

Yes.

If Trump had stuck the money his dad gave him in US savings bonds, he'd have more money today, than his business interests have generated for him.

The Russians got their man, and they're thrilled.

Putin knows he now has an isolationist US, exactly what he wanted.

Well he's won the presidential race, we should give him the benefit of doubt, it's all we can do in reality. Hopefully much of his rhetoric, engineered by his campaign organisers and advisers to "engage" a vast non-college educated blue collar demographic, will not come to some sort of fruition. As reality sets in that he will be stepping into the role as commander and chief, it will temper his idealism with realism with what lies a head surround by many experienced political advisers. Let's not write off the whole world just yet, at least give him a chance to set foot into the White House!!

Yes, let's see the sort of people he surrounds himself with.

Early signs are not encouraging though, with people like Ben Carsons and Chris Christie looking like they're going to get top jobs, not forgetting his running mate is 'off with the fairies'

I wonder if Hilary is shivering in her coat, as Trump said repeatedly in his campaign that if he became the president, he'd put her in jail for her email scandal and allsorts.

I almost feel sorry for the US having to vote for the two worst candidates in their short history.

Any views? David

Sure. So does the rest of the world.

Even if they do that (metaphorically, I mean) any time soon, I don't think it will do any damage to Trump. Trump will say that he's sleeping with Putin to make America-Russia relationship better.

A man who has been declared bankrupt about 7 times and was given millions of dollars by his father to start? Hardly self made or competent.

Always difficult to tell with Mr A's declarations, but I assumed he meant Gexit and Frexit rather than war. Could be wrong though.
