So if I hadn't have owned this car previous I'd have stayed clear with rusted arches!!! But my heart ruled my head, I knew I'd have to sort them!!! But didn't expect the sills to be bad!! Ah well, 300 quid to sort them. Don't have much choice as it wouldn't pass the MOT I've just booked in for the 5th Nov. Also been busy and finally found some 792 silver skirts on a Facebook group. Slight touch up and they will be good!! Only two clips missing and they came with the rubbers!! Managed to find some other bits needed on flea bay.

On a good note I got 155 quid for the carbon wrapped bonnet!!! Just waiting for someone to buy the body kit.

Found some black rear bumper corners locally on eBay, 15 quid and they came with a full set of black sideskirts which I didn't need but they do have almost all the clips.

I've rubbed them down ready for painting. Had some grey primer in the garage but didn't realise it's better to use plastic primer!!! So ive got some on order. Might as well do it right!!!

Will post the results up.

There are some scratches on the bumper corners that I'm not happy with so going to fill them in before i put the colour coat on. I'm not looking for a perfect finish but might as well do it properly for the sake of a bit more time and a little plastic filler!!!

Id give them away, but not comfortable selling them to be honest. I've taken the clips off them and I don't have anything to package them in. Which I why I was asking if your local. Plenty on eBay that will deliver, ;-) but if you know anyone near by who can collect drop me a PM, sorry.

I noticed some fluid round the header tank, just presumed it was the cap as the spring part wasn't actually doing much, no flex in it. Looked like a cheap 1.3 bar jobbie. Did a bit of research and ordered a 1.1 HKS one. Looking at it again I'm thinking it could be the actual header tank at the base of the neck looked rusty. Will keep an eye on it.

Looks like it was just the cap, went on a spirited drive and no leaking evident.

Finally got one of the bumper corners on, glad I didn't cut the rusty mounts off now. It fitted back on nicely.

I don't think that's too bad from a rattle can!?!?

Cheers fella, makes it all worth while!!! If it hadn't been a previous car of mine i'd have walked away and probably not even gone to look at it. But i'm taking pride restoring it to it's former glory. :-) Slowly but surely. I don't think i'm going to put the sideskirts back on till I've had the arches sorted. But that will be the new year now. Had a quote of 500 for both sides. But not including painting.

Got the other side on. Just the boot lettering to go on now. No idea where to get the turbo 2000 sticker from though.

Do you intend on keeping the rear wing? (Actually, is it the RB5 one back on?...Hard to tell from that angle).

If so, I wouldn't even bother with reinstating any boot badging. But that's just me.

Agreed, current spoiler wouldn't be my choice either. I'd be looking for a more standard subtle looking one.

I think it is the RB5 one. It's got prodrive stamped on it. I think that angle makes it look huge, but I know what you mean.

Yeah, it's the RB5 "WR Sport"-option rear wing, then - as in the pics in your first post. (It's many an Impreza enthusiast's favourite. Which is nice).

I guess the other fella kept it on, then (just that it looked like a different one in 'his' front-three-quarters photo; so my mistake).

EDIT: Just seen the fourth photo, which clearly shows it is (I overlooked that photo at first ).

No worries, it was actually on the car when I owned it 12 years ago, it's aged well!!! If it was an sti one it would have been off by now!!
