I'd fit the standard wheel and airbag on.

Indeed. When you get the clockspring, then, as you say, both options will become available anyway.

Unhappy

So today I got round to starting to remove the full charge speed body kit. I went for the easiest. Removed four bolts and off was the front. I'd a feeling it wouldn't be pretty!!! I could have cried. Rubbing where the top of the lip ran, but the worst damage was from a previously fitted lip. Some horible black rubbery stuff and some bonding agent left behind. It will tidy up for now but I need a new front bumper, don't think it's worth the cost to put right.

Although I don't care for the kit I have to admire how it's been paint matched to the Royal silver 792 all round. I'll stick it on eBay once I get the rest of it off!! The rear looks like it will come off as easy. But the spat corners are missing underneath. The skirts look a nightmare. Self tappers into the sills and no side skirts under. I can feel some crusty rust and don't think it's going to be a pretty sight!!!

When I got RCM to re-fit mine, Matt made a comment that it makes a change for the clockspring to be in one piece and fully working order. I think he said that second hand ones are often broken in a certain area, or something.

Glad I kept my OWN one back, then.

Cool, you got lucky. Fingers crossed it's gonna be in one piece.

Hopefully the seller has gone to town on the bubble wrap, this time... Once bitten, twice shy and all that jazz.

Looking better from the front end! The nasty bonding stuff came off, very carefully scraped it then some sticky stuff remover and a quick polish. So two choices now. Replace the bumper with a another or put a P1 splitter on to cover up a previous one that been on it!!!!

How was it packed, if it wasn't in a box is sellers fault. The amount of times I've seen poor packing it unreal. Now a days most sellers are really good.

But you need to expect it to be dropped or thrown, if it can't withstand that then its no properly packed. Even the girl at the post office throws the parcels into the parcel sack and missed one day, ended up on the floor, i wasn't to fused as my stuff is always packed well. Never had anything damaged though hermes.

It was bubble wrapped but he's stuck it in a box this time. Luckily he had 2 for sale.

A box makes a difference. Couriers recommend boxes.

Not much going on, still on the look out for OEM silver sideskirts and rear bumper corners so I can get the rest of the bodykit off. I think i have sourced some clockspring screws so I can get the OEM steering wheel on. Dealers can't seel me them separate and wanted 450 quid for the clockspring unit that comes with the screws, lol. Found my passenger side rocker cover gasket needs doing. Was going to try it myself but been quoted 85 quid plus vat which seems good to me so will get that done.

Finally!!!!
I used this guide to get the original clockspring and steering wheel back on.

http://www.rs25.com/forums/f105/t141...nt-99-obs.html

A very good guide and would cover either a clockspring swap out or how to put the original wheel back on.
Airbag light goes off and indicators now cancel, :-)

Nothing much going on!! The car is at the garage getting checked over. It began leaking oil not long after I bought it passenger side rocker gasket and camshaft seal.

I would never attempt to replace the arches myself but found this clip whilst looking.

Oh dear!!!

I've been recommended this company in Wakefield www.jessopmotorbodies.co.uk so when I get it back will try get it over there for a price.

Now on the lookout for a rear bumper, the mounts for the corners are goosed and I think the best option is a full bumper with corners. Not many corners about and if there are, will they be full without and breakage. Also still on the lookout for the 792 side skirts, plenty of black but really want them coded. The search continues.

Struggling to find a rear bumper and coded side skirts but decided to take the charge speed skirts off anyway. Looks like I'll be getting the sills done when I gather some funds for the arches. Also missing a few clips, housings and bolts. I'll try source some unless anyone can point me to them.
