Over the years, way, way more than the top figure listed on my rally cars etc. Plus I've got far more than that in one of my cars, which isn't a Subaru, but has a 780bhp EJ257 and running gear though, but that's a story for another day.....
My current Imprezas are both relatively cheap builds, but I've got the fact that I own a bodyshop and have a 2 post lift and decent tools at home to thank for that!
Version 1 STi I have kept 99% standard cosmetically and standard brakes, suspension etc, just with uprated discs and pads etc, small but effective stereo install and subtle, but effective engine tuning. I've cut out any signs of rust though and given it a show-level paint job, all in original 406 Silver.
2006 Hawkeye WRX, very low mileage, I picked the car up for a great price with minor front end damage (easy fix, but ended up respraying the whole car being pretty **** about these things). Already had STi top mount fitted, Forge dump valve, STi Speedline alloys and a few other STi extras. I did fit STi brakes, upgraded the suspension. I bought the car in mind that I had a nigh-on brand new VF43 from a Hawkeye STi that I had recently found lying on a shelf, which I forgot I had from my old rally car (that engine covered 48 miles, before being taken out and put into something else with a much bigger turbo attached to it!), so I bought the car to go with the turbo rather than the other way round! Add in a few other tuning tweaks and mapping to get the most of it and it's made a great, quick daily driver for not a lot of money, taking into consideration the extras the car already had/what I had lying around.

Forged 2.5, 6 speed, turbo, twin plate etc etc etc.......would rather not think about it to be honest! When you start justifying £1000 + on a clutch, you do look back and have a "why did I bother?" moment!

I have a scooby fund which used to be called a savings account, I have only had mine a couple of months but everything I have brought pretty much will be transferred to a saloon or something a bit more major after me and the Mrs have brought a house, my little girl threw a spanner in that worx but I wouldn't change anything I don't mind the slowly but surely progress, I wouldn't be able to buy a type r and maintain my genitalia, however picking up a cheap Impreza and drip feeding a project/hobby is doable for me, I'm around about the 700 mark after 2 months though

probably around 18 k , mostly on engine rebuilds , i would have spent 4.5 k less if i got the bottom end done at same time as hg going , so big pointer if 2.5 hg go do the whole engine as very likely bottom end will go within a year

I spent far too much on the Hatchback without even realising, it was only when I sold it I counted up the receipts.
So now with the type r I have an excel sheet to track all the costs but to be honest its not helping.

When this poll started I was in the second from top bracket. Recent mdx turbo and parallel top feed injector conversion has pushed me well into to top band. That doesn't include the used parts that I pick up here and there or mapping costs.
I started my V2 RA project because I couldn't afford an Ariel Atom at the time, if I had saved the money instead of throwing it at a 20 year old four door saloon I might have had the Atom sitting in my garage by now....

I haven't actually added them up (ring binder full of receipts) that's just the big stuff like engine build, gearbox, turbo, injectors, intercooler, brake calipers etc.
Doesn't include consumables and random bits of silicone, decals, paint, service items, tyres or brake pads.
