How much have you spent so far?
Just wondered what kind of money people on spending on their Impreza's.
Just been trying to workout, not talking about general maintenance more modifying or repairing replacing parts etc. |
I'll be spending 4k in the near future, forged engine and clutch :(
|
i have spent thousands and still more to come.Once the forged 2.5 is fitted that will be it.
|
I'm up to around 17k.
Gonna get a full professional respray, wheels refurbished, new OEM shocks and springs on all corners so il be over 20k before long |
Dont save the receipts that way you can never be certain.
|
2-3k ish so far - which will do for a little while :norty:

"How much have you told your missus you have spent so far" So do we 'underplay' how much our mods cost, eg. tell the missus a forged build costs £125, or just 'overlook' to mention certain mods? "Why is the car so loud all of a sudden?" "Maybe just the direction of the wind, dear." "The car seems much quicker today!" :Suspiciou "Yes, sweetcheeks, that'll just be because I'm low on fuel, so the car is much lighter." "Why is the ride so much more firm?" :wonder: "New potholes, darling. Nothing to see here." :freak3: |
I've learnt to have bits I've bought delivered to work so as not to arouse suspicion! I guess I'm around the £6k mark so far, if it wasn't for the fact I need a wagon, it will ultimately have been cheaper to buy a spec c etc. Still it's no use being the richest man in the graveyard and I'm in too deep now so might as well keep pushing on with it.

Wow some impressive spending.
|
I think ime in at around 25k atm still loads more to do.
|
It would be too much of a shock at my age
|
Ive spent less that I could pull back out of it if needed...I must be in a minority here lol
|
I've not spent an insane amount, between 1k-2k. Although i do have a few more jobs that need doing.
|
In the last year I've probably spent between 3 and 3.5k on my WRX wagon. But that is a mixture of mods (biggest being coilovers and digital radio), consumables (tyres, discs and brake pads, oil changes etc), and repairs (new rocker cover gaskets, radiator, cv gaiters, front brake calipers, ARB bushes and drop links).
However at the end of it I've now got a fairly nicely sorted wagon which hopefully will not need much more fixing. So I can spend my money on different parts instead... |
By the time I add it up over the course of the 10+ years I've had the car, I'm over the 20K mark. Biggest expense was the 2.1 + 6 speed (plus all the bits to go with it). I've tended to upgrade when things break. I think over 10 years, that's not too bad at all. Although, I priced up a 2.35 set up recently . . . Must stop.

50k+ but on two Subaru's But that's over 13 years for my one and 10 years for my wife's,so in the grand scale of things it seems to be not to bad,but i still regret it Totally.SJ.

Awe man, I hate this thread.
I tried not to think about it too much and start adding things up as I'm not the sort to waste money, more invest it. But unfortunately this Subaru has had me under the thumb, I just want it how I want it, and it's still not finished. But I'd say at least 10k and that's not including what I paid for car, but I don't want to start adding before I scare myself Loool. Let's just say, this hobbie is expensive! |
No comment lol
|
gotta factor in the Mulberry handbag for the missus and now a Louis Vuitton one after my latest foray into the coilover market, to keep things in balance with our loved one's

I tend to tell Mrs that I have got a good deal on ....., which means I can sell the original part for £X, which means the upgrade has really only cost £Y. I think she falls for it most times :freak3: |

Tbh on this project, the wife has actually been kind of supportive as she knows how stressful things can be during project so thumbs up from her, although I do get the odd joke comments, he cares more about his car then he does me :lol1: |
