Like banny rightly says,when mapping a car on dyno then you want to get as close to driving conditions as possible.
Strapping the air duct to the intercooler is not and never will be the airflow you get on the road or track lol

See now I'm of the view that a lot of dynos don't supply proper airflow for TMICs as generally the fans are quite low, so I quite like the TMIC feeds like above.

I see a lot of mappers strap the air like this mark@tdr maps on the Dyno then adjusts on the road as required he's mapped 2 of my cars one Being top mount (same way as picture ) and other (present car ) front mount with a big fan at front .you guys are correct , you'll never simulate correct flow as road but I'd like to think all mappers tweak accordingly on the road .

I agree with you totally you're right, to represent true road conditions, airflow, temperature and humidity you'd need a dyno sat in a variable wind tunnel with full air conditioning to get anywhere close... and the only peeps that have something like that are car manufacturers and MIRA, not the "Average" tuner.

As long charge temps are monitored, and timing retarded accordingly, that accounts for flaws in the simulation of real road conditions for air flow !?

A decent mapper should always sign off the map with a final road tweak
And IAT compensation tables adjusted accordingly

Yes get it close on the dyno and finish on the road, imo is more than good enough fellas
