Sadly the best mapper, especially when it came to customer service, is no longer with us.

This is sadly so true!

I will be needing my own car mapped in the foreseeable future, and now that JGM is sadly gone, I don't know where to turn really massive blow to the subaru community, and the effects are still being felt today imo with nobody to step into his shoes.

In 6 years of impreza ownership, the only maps that I have had are from Duncan and Martyn at Enginetuner. There was no difference between them, except that Duncan was a bit cheaper, and his mapping felt a little smoother, but that may be down to the engine state at the time. I found him to be friendly and helpful. Tweaks for French octane fuel were free from him.

The thing is, you choose your people and stick with them, if they **** up, you make a informed decision and go from there.

There's loads I can say about the 'professionals' but why would I do that, I just let folk crack on with who they want to use unless one is asked directly then I'll tell them.

I've told folk before, they don't listen, so be it......not my business so let them crack on.
spot on.

I've stuck with Clive Atthowes for 10 years not one problem, maintains and mapp's all my cars.

used duncan twice now after being put in his direction by a friend, made contact through his web page and had reply within days, smashing fella really helpful explained everything as he went through fitting ecu for me,doesnt answer his phone whilst mapping out of respect for whoevers car hes working on(thus avoiding slip ups i suppose)left him a few answer phone message and has always replied.. and should imagine he gets fed up of muppets ringing him with daft questions.
from what iv seen hes non stop and pretty long days.. dont think hes short of custom thats for sure, will be using him again in the future.
