like i said i had the very same issue and could never get it any better and had spent so much time on the map that i didnt want to touch the scaling again, to mess up my fuelling and having to start over, so just had to live with it untill i went a differant route
Out of interest, which route did you go? And are you still mapping your own car?

Personally I find ESL pretty good running mafless.
There are a few things that would be nice to have like being able to see injector duty or being able to view a VE table.
I am thinking of going AVCS in the future too which would mean me taking a different route.

main reason i changed ecu was avcs in the future too,
now running haltech platinum sport 1000 plug n play kit,not cheap but you ultimately do get what you pay for.
still all mapped by myself, absolute doddle with haltech

Hmmm one I've not thought about, might have a look into that for the future,I need to go AVCS to make the most of my setup really.
Cheers

Cheers guys , I'm thinking it maybe scaling also , I altered the fuel table AFRs in the areas where I've got fuel trim reducing fuel , I went from 14.7 to 16.9 and guess what , on next check of ESL software when j arrived at destination it had ......... Bloody reduced fuelling even more !!!!!! Grrr

No matter what input In The fuel table on closed loop it doesn't affect my wideband readings so at idle I could put 20 and it idles at 14.9 to 15.2 on the wideband

It seems to be hot air dependant tho , if I go for a blast at night the fuel trims are good , during hot days , certain cells get reduced fuelling by 10% !!

you might find that reductions to fuel above 14.7 are locked at 14.7 though, the leaner values (15-20) I think are only for mafless setup (where the table should be viewed raw).

Right, spent a few more moments on this

When i inputted anything upto 18 in the fuel table at idle / low load my AFR gauge didnt flutter , so i inputted 19, still wideband read 15.1 or there abouts , so i went to 20 in the fuel table, nothing, blip the throttle, nothing, still car running smooth and wideband reading 15.1 ish

so i thought sod it, whopped in 22 in the fuel table, result, wideband started to read lean, it went to 17, cool, so i went to 23, wideband read 19 . Nice

So, i reduce the fuel table down to 14.7 and now my wideband reads 13.4, hmm, weird

so i mess about and find 17 in the table gets a nice 14.9/15.1 on wideband, then i notice engine load is from 4 to 5 at idle and the fuel trim adjustment is happening in 0 load cells at 1400/1800 rpm etc, so ive adjusted my fuel table to have a minimum engine load of 2 as i saw a minimum of 2.5 in the log which was when irevved the car and its was coming down the rev range.

idle is cell 5 and cold start is idling on cell 9

see what this does to the fuel trims, i reset them so time will tell

Nice one, will be interesting to see how your fuel trims behave and if it sorts the lean tip in spot.

Not sure if I had the same thing on mine as I never take too much notice of the afr when coming off closed throttle. I used to get a moments hesitation then it was ok. Turned out to be the airbox not clipped together correctly so throwing air across the maf differently, ie affecting the scale so to speak.

Cheers bud

Nothing's helped so far , I'm changing MAfs as it may be the IAT in the MAF as it's worse when cold but apart from that I've not found a solution , it's a lot better when warm

Yes i did sort my issue out but it probably wpont work for you but hte principle is the same i guess.

My Maf calibration was out, way too lean, even with my standard airbox so not sure why the standard ESL MaF calibration is wrong , i never heard back from Andy at ESL to help out

If your mafless yo umay want to play with the fuel enrichment, but iim not as clued up on mafless so much as maf

cheers
