well i doubt they take cars that are in good nick... if the car was ok, it'd be sold in a more conventional way. if they have to uplift it, they know there's something wrong with it.

Wrong. Subaru's currently make more money if broken. Immaculate A1 examples have been broken for spares for years now.

i'm up for checking it, though i don't have ANY car skills/experience... i have experience in fixing/upgrading mountain bikes. have built one from scratch almost, so that is at least some mechanical skills.

can this universal joint be easily accessed?

WTF. even a good spec C? (obv mine isn't good)

if everyone is breaking them, wouldn't actual cars go up in value? especially the older not-made-anymore models.

Set the car on fire and claim on the insurance . Do you know how to do that ?

Or take it to a garage let them drive it then have them fix it
