If they had my car that long (which they wouldn't of) I would take a day of work and go bloody get it.

Intriguing thread...

First up, I have used API for years and have always been great. I hope the OP gets clarity as soon as possible as I've been there (with a different company which is how I ended up being a David / APi loyalist), and is a horrible situation to be in.

The thing that interests me is RM Performance..

Rob Ellard - are you the transmission chap from API? You would have rebuilt my PPG gearbox? Black 2.35 Type R, Mick built my engine...

Just an update from my dealings with Api. Left it for a diff, gearbox check and new clutch fitted. Got it back 5 weeks later and after running in the competition clutch still have a very notchy gearbox(worse than before) and deep rumble when setting of from standing still in 1,2 and not as noisy in 3rd. The other 2 gears make no noise at all. This wasn't happening before l took it in, more or less the opposite was happening, but only when in high revs and taking foot off the accelerator would a rumble occur.. Rang them yesterday and taking it back next Tuesday when hopefully it will get sorted, otherwise l'll be looking else where.

My calls also not answered for nearly a month now.

I have sent a message and asked for money back for the engine I ordered for delivery end of November.

Credit card company are following up- very sad as its my rally car and all mechanics on it are from there, so will source another engine from elsewhere .

Holding judgment at the moment with API, had my 2010 STI Saloon forged there in May which included a Competition stage 2 clutch which has let go after 2.5k? Ordered another from AS Performance so we'll see what clutch comes out of it next week? Cars running 403/420. could be just bad luck I suppose.

Hi,
Latest update - APi have definitely moved to the address above. My spies have visited even though I have not.
David O'Brien is no longer involved in the buisiness - confirmed by Simon Bryant
I have yet another phone number - 01926 839 727 which I have got through on a couple of times and to be fair I have had a couple of calls or calls back from Simon so perhaps things are returning to normal!

Still 11 weeks and counting is an awful long time even allowing for Christmas and a move to say nothing of a bill that is heading for 3 grand!

I've just collected mine today after 6 months.... but I can definitely say it was worth the wait, feels like a different car! Simon had explained the issues he's had and his new unit, looks like a bomb has hit it due to moving but since his phones have been up and running he's been on the ball with updates and information

I had a problem with my clutch in my new build but Simon has got everything in order which I am very pleased with. My car does run great at 403bhp :-)
