Didn't look that closely to be frank as I have an ingrained mistrust of eBay outlets, and that's generally where you find the grey imports.

Well, that's an ****: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...AE/mobilebasic

Hikvision now refusing to supply UK distributors that sell to the public

Although really this kit should not be sold to the average Joe on the street with zero networking or computer knowledge or similar transferable skill/experience. But this is what made it far superior than the dumbed down/low specced DIY plug and play systems, but price wise was reasonable for the quality. To get equivalent spec kit from the likes of Axis or Samsung etc. would have cost much much more.

So I guess it's either grey imports or wrangling a trade account with a supplier.

Or look at Dahua instead.

I was looking at Hikvision fro our new property. I didn't know about this restriction, so I will apply for trade account. I've still got my electronic accounts active, so shouldn't have to much problem, failing that, I've got a computer buddy who could probably open an account

Grey vs UK is about 20% difference on the whole I found but Hik are very ****, so make it hard to get firmware for grey imports, so now just buy UK stuff.

Yeah I may ressurrect an old company name I was part of soley to get a trade account, so long as there is no minimum ordering requirements.

Really want some form of microphone/speaker/intercom right now.

Had three Amazon deliveries today from two delivery guys clearly at the wrong address (I never have Amazon deliver to my house). In fact the last guy is still there right now on the phone and knocking on all the Windows...

So wish I could tell him to read the fecking address properly as the satnav post code will say "arrived" at the first house (mine) as the whole street has the same post code. And it's probably the **** down the road who named his house with a similar name to mine and doesn't use the house number...my house has no number so I have no choice. He has...it's no.46

I never gained any info on if the Hikvision villa station could be used as a video intercom via my current NVR

You can definitely add a mic/speaker to many of the cameras and also to the DS-76nn series of NVRs. Hikvision have door entry on their website too

I use a Ring personally.

I'll use my co as an installer & buy from a wholesaler
