So hes well within his right to buy it back for penuts and continue driving it like i said and get paid the market value. Or get paid and let them crush (thats what will happen) the car

Is this now the case?

If you want to replace the car like for like, surely they need to be paying current market value.

I had someone pull out and write my 205 GTI off about 20 years ago. They offered me peanuts and I just turned it down and sent them a letter about the fact I just wanted to replace my car and the inconvenience, I included lots of adverts for similar cars cut out and stuck to the letter (yes it was that long ago lol) and they paid out what I asked.

I had my MY99 written off back in 2002, it had only 30,000 miles on the clock at the time of accident, it worth £12,500 for a similar car in auto trader back then, the insurance paid out exactly that, I then bought it back for only £1,500, because the engine was damaged otherwise it would had worth £3,000 to buy back. went to main dealer to have the engine re condition for £3,500, and my local garage to have the body work done for £2,000. Then the car remapped in 2008 by JGM, it runs perfectly since.

Well I've heard from the insurance today, and just as I thought it's been written off. They've given me their first offer which I laughed at! Can anyone give me some advice as to the rough value of the car with the damage?, as they've given me a price to buy it back. Full spec is on the previous page.

Out of interest what is their first offer ? You would be best going on line and searching like type cars for prices.

Offered £5400, and have the option to buy it back. Just wondering what the car would be worth in its current state and what would someone pay for it as it is if I bought it back, day for like a doner car?
