Niz: Why do you need a wine cooler ? It's no good for pot noodles, iron bru and lidl baked beans.
TBH, I had my En-suit done last year (very big en-suite) and that cost me just under £9,000.
I'm totally amazed when people say they got a bathroom or Kitchen for £4k or £10k etc. Either they buy crap, or I'm missing out on every sales going, as I get no where near that. I want a new Kitchen, but the amounts are just stupid.
You've got to not want to move for a while to spend that much, as you'll never recoup that outlay. Probably just like my En-suite.
I've just had a smallish bathroom fitted, total cost was around £5k.
Suite 800, tiles 500, taps and shower 250, flooring 250, plasterer 300. The rest was labour costs for tiler, plumber and electrician. I removed the old tiles and bathroom suite myself.after visiting tile specialists like tops tiles, we bought the same tiles online for a third of the price. We paid £45 m2 online compared to tops tiles £105 m2 for the same item at tops.

quartz worktops aint cheap but will last a life time so worth getting for ours it was around just over 5K
Why would you say pot noodles and beans in a wine cooler bit strange
Iron bru on the other hand was the reason I bought the wine cooler
as I dont drink alchohol anymore and hate big juice bottles clunking around in the fridge taking up space so wine cooler is perfect for cooling our fizzy juice.

For tiles we used tile giant I was buying a lot of tiles so just haggled the price down for bathroom tiles which they were happy to do

Personally, a black work top doesn't look dated but I'd happily have a white worktop which would also look great. I'd prefer a white worktop for that really clinical modern look but my partner doesn't agree so we settled for sparkly black.

yea I dont think black worktops and white cupboard look dated at all
for me it looks very modern but some people have different tastes I suppose.
Nice bathroom Nizmo80, looks like the one I did at the last place, but yours is better
Plumbing in the new place is shocking, so these are next on my list, planning on starting in the next few weeks all going well.

its a daunting thought knowing that a lot of work is about to take place in your house isnt it as the mess and disruption it causes is mental I had to move my wife and four year old son into the wifes mums house while the work was taken place as she is a clean freak and dust and mess she cant stay still LOL
I am glad our house is almost finished,
once you have done your bathroom post some pictures on this thread so we can see it bud
yea plumbing needs to be done good as you dont want any leaks in your house bud
For us I have spent the last 8 months renovation our house its been chaos
but worth it in the end
so far over the last 8 months we have done
knocked down a non supporting wall and went open plan fitted kitchen and livingroom with everything getting done including a whole new ceiling
new bathroom
complete overhaul of our 4 year old sons room and our own bedroom
new windows throughout our home
new roof on our house
complete overhaul of our lobby including new stairs and banisters
skimming every wall and ceiling
new boiler with flu through the roof with designer radiators throughout the house
new yale composite front door.
new furniture and TVs throughout the house and a nice TV bed
the list is endless LOL
all thats left to do is the spare bedroom and add designer sliding doors to our bedrooms big fitted cupboard.
then its time to completely do the outside of our house LOL
this month we finished the lobby and front door 3 days before Xmas
somehow in these pictures the carpet on the stairs looks a funny colour but
when looking at it in person it looks a very nice brown but dont know why in the pictures it looks a funny shade of brown.
and just noticed in the picture under the radiator there is still some dust
on the skirting board from drilling the holes to mount the radiator which I have now cleaned off
as the pictures were taken just as we finished
That flooring looks similar to what I have in my kitchen diner. Looks good although personally I'm not sure if I like the wallpaper. I'm going to guess it was the wife's choice?

Me and the wife have totally different styles and it's near impossible
To agree on anything for decorating not kidding it was ending up in arguments over wallpaper so we ended up settling on this paper
Had a big tidy up today and finally took some half-decent pictures so here it is 360 degrees (sort of):
I still need 2 more bar stools and I also want to change the curtain pole for a very nice solid designer pole. Also the TV needs to be bigger .
I think in 10 years time I may change the worktop to white quartz or a "restaurant kitchen style" stainless worktop. I watched a house program ages ago and someone had fitted a bullet-proof glass worktop which looked awesome. In fact, I think it might have been on The Apprentice where the contestants had to sell expensive London flats on behalf of the owners/developers(?).

The misses decided over Christmas that she wants to open up the dining room into the kitchen, I like the idea of it being separated a little.
Was completely separate but did this on day of moving in;
Good old Father-in-law again.
Joins the two two room but misses wants to take the wall down completely after spending best part of last year doing them in two different styles, so will have to 'bring them together', which just sounds like spending money taking out some of the stuff I never wanted in the first place!

LOL yea we have a 4 year old son runs about like mental so he does
but overall well behaved and doesnt damage things luckly.
we done up his room as well so that is looking really nice as well and
he has not wrecked it at all so thats a bonus,
It would make things much easier that you and your wife tend to agree on most things when decorating I wish I could say the same
the kitchen project you done hodgy really looks nice wish we had that amount of space in our kitchen as it looks great
