who on scoobynet will buy expensive parts from ASB after reading this thread , i wont ,

ASB have done what they legally have to but not morally and considering the amount of parts they have for sale on here and the future sales they could make it makes sense to me they should work harder to maintain confidence in there service .

send out another turbo insured properly and with a better delivery company ,

on the flip side this shows how easy it is to get parts for free , scribble a signature and the deny recieving it ,

Its just fustrating as no one seems to want to help.

Surely something like this shouldnt take a month to resolve? And it still hasnt been

Its also a pain as cars meant to be getting built after christmas now i have to wait even longer to find more money and find another turbo!

At the end of the day, they won't deal with you, the wont deal with the seller, they'll only deal with the company that the seller paid, as he didn't deal direct because he doesn't have an account with City Link. As far as City Link will be concerned, for the most part, is they have completed their side of things, they've got a "Signature".

When I started working there in 2002, I asked why didn't we use handhelds for obtaining signatures, since when it's pissing down with rain your paperwork gets ruined. Reply I got, was something along the lines of, because the signatures when done on a touch screen never look anything like what the person's signature, if a claim/dispute made it to court, then it would be no good as evidence. Something like that, it was 12 years ago that I asked.

I feel your frustration. No one wanted to help me when I left City Link, and they didn't pay me what was owed on time, because of them I was about £800 ish out of pocket.

Insurance or not, they wouldn't of payed out due to being signed for.
Moral is, use a proper courier to avoid all this hasstle. UPS, TNT, or Hermes for the cheap stuff.

I have not got the time to read all of this thread. But here is my opinion.

I dont know what level of trade ASB breakers enjoy from members of this forum, or other forums like it.

But it seems that ASB are making a bad situation worse. ASB should simply refund the buyer and chase CityLink for damages.

Are ASB willing to destroy a seemingly already tainted reputation for the sake of 500 odd quid?

Does not make good business sense at all!

Could the buyer check to see if there are any neighbours with CCTV systems that may have recorded the driver making the delivery?

And just to add.

CityLink are useless, so are MyHerpes, sorry Hermes.

Royal Mail are just about bearable.

But top of the pile for me is DPD. Not once had an issue with them, and the 1 hour prediction they give has always been spot on. I actually try to only buy from websites and sellers that use DPD. Or at a minimum Royal Mail.

Sorry to hear of this OP. I too have had lots of hassle with Hermes - throwing parcels over the fence with no signatures. Yodel - claiming they came to my house to deliver a parcel (three times), but no one was in when in fact I had been in with the front door ajar all day. City Link leaving parcels on the front door step!!! instead of obtaining a signature. This has happened at least five times now. It is shocking to say the least!
They should come up with a better system than simply a signature. Almost like a PIN system. The delivery company generates a unique PIN, which is preprogrammed into the delivery boy's handheld computer and texted/emailed to the buyer. The buyer then has to key in the PIN along with his/her signature.... Only then, will this kind of robbing stop.

Well,

Just got off the phone with city link.... After i explained the situation again as the women on the line said there was no information of a delivery or any of the emails/phone calls. They was not aware of my address or said there was no proof of delivery on city links behalf no evidence of a parcel being delivered to my address from city link. They didnt even have the p4d tracking number! The women spoke to a supervisor and told me to ring the police as its a scam and told me p4d have been scamming people this is not the first time shes had to deal with it.

So now im back on the phone to p4d telling them what ive been told then ill be giving all the details to the police and hopefully this gets resolved!

Sounds like an apology is owed to ASB then if thats the case as he has been a party to the same issue.

Maybe if you both work together to provide all the evidence from both sides to the police then p4d will get whats coming to them.

And with any luck you will get your turbo and ASB will get their payment and you can both more on.

No apology is due

Insuring a £550 parcel for £25.

And being unhelpful in trying to resolve this as a seller they havent done much. Ive been the one ringing every company. Spoke to citizens advice and every thing to sort this.

Yes if they could retrieve the parcel id be over the moon! Meaning can get my build done and finished and i havent spent £550 on a months worth of hassle.

Just had a very ranty phone call with p4d they wasnt happy with the city link claim of them scamming people.

This is why we use DPD , have done for years now , you pay more but they are spot on , the difference is the drivers are franchise , so they care about what they do , or what is going on.

To be fair UPS are also good , just a pain to book online , not as straightforward as DPD , when you do a lot of parcels per day the time difference is huge

Hopefully you'll get some kind of outcome now

You need the name of the woman you spoke to, her phone number and her managers name. The pass this on the ASB. If he does not pull his finger out, contact admin on here. I am sure they will apply some pressure.

£20 on the courier is a little chav w@nkstain who bought himself a nice chavved up wrx last month with his first wage packet....

Another £20 on he bought it off tw@tbook Subaru sales and when he turned the w@nky neons off he realised the turbo was smoking more than his mums knickers

Last £20 on his mate being a mechanic

Consignment number is on the link, along with your surname. Or I'll spell it out for you, the City Link consignment number, signed for by Jerkovic at an address with the post code of GL51 9LJ, is GYD85898.

Always quote their consignment number when trying to deal with them.

The police will kick you out the door faster than city link would, as mentioned above, when speaking to city link you may have given the wrong number.

You need to keep pushing ASB. He may be not doing enough at his end to satisfy but IMO he's the only one to deal with. Plus just try and keep in mind the position ASB are in, they may not be doing enough but if he was to give a new turbo to everyone who he had been told has signed for the package he'd be out of business.

Good luck though, probably not the best time of year for transport problems.
