Sorry I didn't realise stock OE alloys would be different on a 2002-2005 Newage UK/USA WRX. TBH I've never seen a WRX with a stock back-box let alone stock alloys. As with everything Impreza you have to triple check before getting the correct answer. I'm a fan of all JDM/UK (don't know much about US variants)) Subaru's save for the hatchback. I just favour fast acceleration over reliability so the WRX wins hands down.
On the Audi A2 forums they don't ever seem to be getting the 70 odd MPG Audi claim, mid 50's seems to be the norm.
I suppose when they test cars it's done on even ground in idyllic conditions. That's why I did 40mpg on a sunny day on a flat quiet back road to Bridlington.
