I'm sure we've all done the same. How many have drooled over seeing a supercar and asking similar questions.
I'd rather the question attention, than the key variety.

THERE ONLY KIDS AND ITS HARMLESS TELLING THEM A FEW LITTLE DETAILS LIKE THE 150 MPH TOP SPEED OR WHATEVER THEY ASK. i kinda like it and always makes me smile. althouygh i drive a evo and not a scooby. it happens all the time, the otherday i was on a housing estate and some yong lad asked if he could take a picture on his phone. i couln't count the amount of times things like this happen.

Kids can ask as many questions as they like, and keep on the good side of them !
You may find the ones who are "stuck up there aris", who ignore the 5 minutes of "mister nice car how fast" etc are the ones who may be keyed etc!

i had something the same a couple days ago. was parked outside a relatives house, come outside to go home with the mrs, and these 3 chavved up hoodie brigade members blubbered something out like "wargh how fast you got it then guy". i replied along the lines of "dunno, scared to find out with all the speed camera's about fellas". "bet its one of them sports innit" one said.
anyway left it, and warmed the car up for a min (had only been sat a few mines anyways).
saw the lads had gone round the corner onto the empty main road.
pulled out, totally empty... "fug it" i thought and dropped it to the redline in 2nd (about 60-65mph i think)
got a thankful thumbs up in my rear view mirror. slowed down and pootled off home. nothing to prove, but id rather be on their side than have some **** go down my car with a key agian.

Reminds me of a funny story
I was on the CADS stand at Tatton Park a year or so ago when a group of blokes walked over looking at the Scoobs - conversation went something like this:-
Bloke 1 - " How Many of them are Drug Dealers"
Bloke 2 - " Dunno - I bet they all are"
I couldnt believe what I was hearing......................Anyway when the car was didnt have de-cals on it was hardly noticed but since we have slagged her up tend to get plenty of attention - some of it unwanted!

I normally say around 145 along the straight at Brands Hatch on a track day.
Fast Car and a race track - No better response.
Gnerally, in the last 6 years, I have only had one kid come out with a daft comment.
I bet I could drive that better than you!
'Really?!' - 'What yours best time around the Nurburgring then?'
Shame he didn't understand what the heck I was talking about! But he did shut up when his mates laughed at him.
