The "game changer" is how Apple's bendy iPhone has changed how all other phones are tested with the new "bend test", credit due where credit's is due.

It's not really, Jack just likes to say everything Apple do is a game changer.

In reality, it's not a bad idea but not much more than that. It just means if you happen to lose/forget your wallet/cards, then you'll be able to use your phone to pay for things like you would if you've got a contactless bank card.

That being said, personally i wouldn't want my credit card connected to my phone. Could live with it taking payment from iTunes as you can prepay that, so I could you use it as a just in case.

Apple are simply taking advantage of the in roads that Google Wallet and Master card have made in contactless payments, nothing game changing about it. Samsung have been doing it since 2011. If they can get the timeing right, they might see greater adoption if they get buy-in from the merchants and banks and that remains to be seen. It won't even come to the UK until well into next year. In my opinion, it won't be a game changer since not everyone will have iPhone 6's. Whilst iPhone might represent a third of he mobile market, an even smaller proportion will be iPhone 6's whilst the majority is made up of iPhone 4's, 4S's, 5's, 5C's and 5S's that can't use Apple Pay. Apple Pay will just be another payment system to add to a list of other payment systems.

You can have the best payment system on your iDevices but Apple can't control quality of the payment system outside their control, ie, the payment terminals taking the payment and not everyone is going to buy a Watch.

That's right, NFC alone back then wasn't ready to be used as payment on mobiles, hence it went nowhere.

Passbook has been excellent, I fly BA quite a lot and it makes things so simple, it's a thing of beauty and I'm sure Apple Pay will be better.

You really should read more current things rather than searching for my comments, you'll learn a little about new terminals that will work with Apple pay and banks that love the idea.

No one is asking you to. Just as I very rarely carry cash and NFC card payment is common, soon enough I'll leave the card at home and use Apple Pay.

No one said NFC alone was used to make payments unless you're an iTard. Like Google Wallet, Apple Pay uses tokenisation technology for secure payment. Like I said, Samsung amongst other Android phones have been using NFC with Google Wallet since 2011, a system you dismissed as a security nightmare now adopted by Apple. Yes, some banks like it, but that is limited to a handful of US banks only, but why wouldn't they, I'm sure they'll receive fat fees on purchases with Apple Pay. Retailers on the other hand remain skeptical since each NFC terminal costs up to $500 plus the cost of operating the system. Sure you have a list of American stores signed up to it, but the list is even longer for retailers not opting for Apple Pay.

It is neither revolutionary, innovative nor game changing simply because it's just leveraging a system that is already in place. It is still using NFC at point of sale like any other payment system and tokenisation like Google Wallet and on a list of other payment systems like PayPal, Zapp, Amazon Payment, etc.

As we find increasingly, Apple will let the real innovators do the ground work, and then hop on the back of it to claim it their own. But they can keep Passbook, no one but yourself uses it and since you only mention the use of Passbook for BA, that's hardly game changing since you hardly use it for anything else

Got to say this iPhone 6 is fantastic, Jony was right, it feels small.
