I am wary of those results: it has the IP6+ resolution as 1136x640, which means a number of possibilities:

1) The benchmark app running on the IP6+ doesn't actually render at 1080p - this could artificially inflate the performance of the IP6+
2) The app *is* rendering at 1080p, but the app is misreporting the resolution - this would suggest the app hasn't been updated for the IP6+/IOS8, which could artificially lower the performance of the IP6+

As usual, benchmarking is lies, damned lies and statistics.

Its not misreporting, they are being rendered in 1136x640 for the iphone6+ thats why it gets a slightly better on screen score than the regular iphone6.

So yes they are probably inflated results if the app was designed for iphone6+ @ its native 1080P. There is an update out for that, not yet public.

I rest m'case lower fps than iphone5s, no surprise really, we've seen it before when they went from non-retina to retina displays.

Unless that benchmarking is being used in support of Android devices, it seems

Oh wait, it's not as good as the iPhone 5s!! Now what??
Thats the slow 1.9ghz octa core version, the Adreno 420 version with 2.7ghz quad core is much faster. Look at the Galaxy S5 and add 10-12% to the performance.

Octo core, quad core, still can't keep up with a dual core A8. 64bit anyone?

Default Keep drinking the Kool aid

iOS8 is a total piece of **** - for every good bit of hardware Apple sells us they release some crappy software to show older devices down and **** up apps that were working just fine.

For every fan boy running to the crApple store for each new gadget there are two pissed off consumers running the other way.

It's hardly apples fault the app developers didn't get it ready for iOS 8.

Well actually they are quicker, that's the point v the dual core A8, those quad cores kick its butt, what you posted was the GPU results and not the CPU results.

Benchmarks are extremely subjective in any context. an older intel chip will outperform the new ones on a single core speed test dependant on what the software is will depend how it responds.

that can be said for both android and apple performance benchmarks

Jack you are obviously a Labour supporter, Quote figures which are comparing old to new products, then when found out, go on saying its better cos it is. The iphone is a quick phone, but not the quickest or the best with its features, especially with ios8 being riddled with bugs atm.

My daugher has the 6 model, its a nice phone, it doesn't blow you away with anything that any other phone has got already. so stop bleating about it, enjoy it when it turns up.

Same old Jack

Lets start again.
New version of S5 has the 805 processor with the 420 GPU, "old" version of phone has the 801 processor with the 330 GPU.
New phone around 50% quicker than the old one.
Core on core performance is also what counts, even if (and this is not to say it is) slower core per core, one has 2 cores and the other has 4, that means it can use 2 cores v 1 and have more processing power at its finger tips.

Next.....

And the same old "pish" retorts from Tony

"Pish" because nobody really cares if FB loads a millisecond faster on one phone or the other, except a handful of geeks on a forum or two

It's hilarious, so wrapped up on specs they don't get to use their devices.

Anyhow, mine should be re-delivered today but time is ticking.

This..

Sorry Jack but I can't see how. Yeah the ipod was a game changer and it pretty much rewrote the MP3 player market, the iPhone to a certain extent opened up the smartphone market but the Watch seems to be something of nothing.

Health monitoring needs a good shake up and the watch will do it. It's really big data and only Apple will be able to kickstart it, Google can manage it too but fragmentation makes it massively more difficult.
