no but i dont claim to beat all manner of super cars. added to that ive driven a wrx and know the sti is streets ahead
as said earlier times have moved on and modern cars with paddle shift etc are far faster than ten year old imprezas and the gtr would destroy even a modified sti.
So you admit, you have an inferior model car too
By the way,i haven't been talking about standard wrx. Get it through your thick head

Don't think these a45 are as quick as you think!
A45 AMG vs Golf R vs Scirocco: A45 AMG vs Golf R vs Scirocco - YouTube
P.s. i nearly bought a scirocco the other week, would you still be arguing that an a45 can beat that lol, well from a roll anyway.

What you don't know is that the Scirocco is running a TSI KO4 turbo set up with Revo Stage 3 (somewhere around 380+bhp) and weighs around 1280kgs. The Golf is Stage 2+ with WMI and running 380-400bhp also.
The A45 is running a Stage 1 box in low settings due to poor fuel (know the owner). Hardly a surprising result really given the circumstances..
Same Scirocco against a 430bhp Scoob.
As for the other vid with the A45 against the Scoob - what does that prove? No idea on output of the STI and looks to me like it's guess work as to when they put their foot down and the STI gets the jump each time. Would be good to see what would happen if they went at the same time and carried on..

Couple of things here - yes it is an A45 (running a Stage 1 box) despite what some say and yes it gets beat by a Scirocco (and initally to the Golf, although it has the legs on this Golf in other vids).

I said i had the lead on one in my tuned subaru and i haven't heard the end of it since!

If you aren't a million miles away from Santa Pod, I would happily take you on and settle it down the strip?

I think we can all agree that you 'beat' the A45 in question that you came across that day. Driver may of not been on the ball, was a quick sprint over a short distance, had it in the wrong gear, had 100kgs worth of tools in the boot - who knows?!?! Whether or not you could do the same to another one is the big question.

Im not sure who would win if we both got a good start but there wouldn't be alot in it,no way near what people like fat-thomas think.
Santa pod is a bit far for me,plus im not a fan of launches really, only sometimes, especially on a sticky surface like sp. I prefer to have clutch up before i gun it. My car is really fast from about 30mph in 2nd.i feel like its too much of a thrash caining 1st

The driver was trying. I pulled away from the lights with him behind me,i got a bad start (went for a bit of a launch and bog out) he shot right on my bumber! I changed into 2nd got past the lag and from then i pulled away. I got to about 90 or so and was a good few car lengths in front. I then slowed down and came off at my turning.

Even funnier, those boasting of being quicker than motorcycles 750cc or less.
Oh the fun they must have, in their boring gadget controlled datsuns. Bet few of them realise that riding one is probably ten times more exciting than what they are experiencing.

To be honest that thread is as bad as this one. Seems full of people up their own *****, spouting crap about people in diesels apparently trying it on but not bothering because 'I have a GTR so I'm far superior to them' when in truth they are probably just reps in their rep mobiles trying to get somewhere in a hurry, to the people scared to overtake in their half decent cars because they might get shown up by the 'I have a GTR so I'm far superior to them' brigade, when in truth they probably just don't give a fvck and are just driving along with the flow of traffic.
Even funnier, those boasting of being quicker than motorcycles 750cc or less.

I don't like the size, weight or looks but they are physics defying miracle machines. Very little can get even close to their performance.

Mateeboy, I geniunely never will, because they don't exite me. I can appreciate how technically advanced, and how mind boggling they are, but I just don't want to drive or own one, even if I could afford ten of them.
The trouble with a lot of cars in this category is that you can't use them to anywhere near their potential on the road. This, I fear, would make them rather dull to drive.
They also give their owners a false sense of self importance. It's just a car.
