That was RS Matt who did the 12.6!! But he forgets to tell everyone it was a very windy day and it was going down a steep hill!!!

And dont get Matt started on kerb weight and 5 speed ratio's!!!

You might want to stay under that stone if Matt gets started on why the blob WRX is the best Impreza made!! And why the 5 speed is the greatest gearbox ever made!!

Shaun,I've never been down a strip in it but i have raced some cars i expected to lose against and didn't.
P.s. it is a proper tuned wrx with 5spd ratios, which has mainly been my point! The long ratios allow me to get the legs on the cars I've raced. If people could be bothered to read the whole post instead of jumping in and attacking halfway, they would realise i already mention i have a vf35,fmic and a scoobyclinic remap! I have never mentioned the 550 injectors though and a couple of other little bits

You'd need a fair bit more than a 40bhp advantage to show the lesser car a clean pair of heels, power to weight and gear ratios will also play their part.

Just saying.

My 1235kg Scooby had 434 BHP and 395 lbft before it had two larger turbos fitted (both needed the bell housing grinding and both were spooled by 3500 RPM) which couldn't be dyno tested as it just spun it up but probably about 500 BHP as it was 1.6 bar at red line on a 2.5. It would still be rinsed by my remap only GTR.

We know Subarus can be fast, but things have moved on from 10 years ago.

What was Trout's Scoob running? Wasn't it something utterly nuts like 700bhp?
I should think only that would worry a GTR.

I'm going to the local RAF base to race a few Eurofighters...

Generally a Subaru and GTR of similar power will accelerate similarly, with some exceptions either way. Reason being is that on the Subaru you have lag, aerodynamics and gearchanges (which also include lag). On my Subaru I would do four gearchanges in 8 seconds. I'm slightly above average at gearchanging based on datalogs I looked at and good as a balance with mechanical sympathy, and in those 8 seconds it was accelerating for 6 of them. That makes up for a hell of a lot of weight. At higher speed when you don't need to change gear as much, aerodynamics and stability matter a lot.

Not sure what Trout was running, but a 700 HP GTR should be in the 9s and very few Subarus are. I know quarter miles are boring, but we are talking about acceleration.

I don't think r35 should be compared to scoob or evo anymore . As a base its a much more sophisticated machine . John you must know a lad called Johny Cocker he's a racing driver for Barwell Motorsport . He runs a company called JCR , and have their development car as GTR. There was a discussion of compraing TA cars with GT racers and he mentioned that with couple suspension mods still on stockish power their GTR was faster than his GT Z4 machine. To get a scoob or evo to that level it takes a bit of money and effort.

http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/231209-jcr-introduction.html

Now the chap with the blob .. you is a **** my friend and have a ****ing clue what you're talking about. Racing on public roads knly gives a bad name for the rest of scooby community. Now your wagon might not be a slouch but you wont go anywere further than a 1st bend and will understeer into a ditch with you mentality. Grow up.

See what i mean!? Here you go attacking the wrx again! Wouldn't mind but you only have a run of the mill sti yourself! Its not exactly a top model edition is it lol like a 330s or a cosworth 400

no but i dont claim to beat all manner of super cars. added to that ive driven a wrx and know the sti is streets ahead

as said earlier times have moved on and modern cars with paddle shift etc are far faster than ten year old imprezas and the gtr would destroy even a modified sti.
