Yeah I've had tons of BM's in the past. This one seems pretty good. Could do with my 16G bodging on it when I fit the 20G to get some torque lol.

Ordered a new water pump, coolant, belts for the BM last week as I didn't know when the water pump was last done. Anyone who knows BM's knows they're not great with water pumps! Turns out that was a pretty good idea as the bearings in the pump are now ruined!

So probably not going to get the 20G on this side of Xmas. Just too damn busy with everything else.

Pile of bits to go on the BMW tomorrow, new pump, belts, coolant, intake hoses, vacuum caps etc.

BMW is pretty much sorted now, bar a cam sensor that's on order.

I'm itching to get the Subaru sorted, I have everything I need to get the 20G on apart from the time .

Nope, not even had time to do that. Had to do all 4 wheel bearings on the wives horse trailer last weekend also.

Just ordered a pair of tyres for the BMW. The fronts are pretty low, so the rears will be moved to the front and the new ones on the back.

It's got a bit too much rear grip for my liking at the moment so I've ordered literally the ****tiest and cheapest tyres I can find, £50.99 for a pair delivered to my door

Nice thread. Looking at a 2.1 build. Glad to see the spool up time as drive ability is always a big thing. Where are you going to go next?

Billet 20G going on next . Once I have the time and other peoples cars stop breaking...

Just ordered a K&N Recharge kit for the panel filter as it's pretty damn grubby now and also a bottle of CRC MAF cleaner as that's looking pretty dirty too.

I might give it a compression check at the weekend too now the engine has been in for around 19k just to give it a check over before the new turbo.

So weather was **** so nothing car related happened apart from some driving.

Had a little play with the Subaru last night, did a pull from 50 - 115 (on a private road) in 4th gear, starting just off boost just to show the flexibility and torque of the engine at the current level of tune. It manages 60 - 100 in roughly 7.5 secs in 4th gear alone, so not bad going. Through 2nd, 3rd and 4th it's obviously a fair bit quicker 60 - 100.

Going to try and fit in giving the car a health check between xmas and new year, along with another service. Might also try and build the turbo so that's ready .

Great stuff, I need to build my new gearbox and fit it around or just after the Christmas break time too.
And fit this new billet wheel and chargecooler set-up too.

Interested to see your chargecooler arrangement.

I may also chuck a 3.0 lump in the BMW as you can pick them up for £400 and it'll go straight in lol.

Putting the engine in is the easy bit, the ecu and wiring is the hard bit 😜
I'll do a thread on the chargecooler and back to back temp tests too, once it's fitted.

Keep the same wiring and ECU .

M54 for M54, wiring is the same, ECU's are the same on the M54B22, B25 & B30. All I need to do is have a mate of mine who maps BMW's flash a 3.0 map onto my ecu and bobs your uncle. It'll run ok on the map that's on it to get it going.

Well I've also done it before, albeit on an E36, very similar though.

Even keep my exhaust, its the same headers, cats, centre pipes. Only difference is the rear muffler as the 330 has a flap in one of the tail pipes that open and closes.

Yeah my old E46 328Ci did too and my E36 328i Sport.

Turbo on the Impreza first, then maybe stick the 3.0 in the BMW . Will only take a day to do the BMW though so not so bad.

I'd love to try and bodge the 16G onto the BM somehow, be better on the 2.2 lump rather than on a 3.0 though. Probably far too much ballache.

Far too small for either engine id say, I ran a t28, t34 then ended up with a Holset HX40 on my 2.8 v6. Melted both turbine wheels on the small turbos because they were too small.

There's actually only 47cc difference between the Stroker in the Subaru and the 6 in the BMW. 2124cc vs 2171cc.

It doesn't work like that though, gas temp and velocity are totally different between the two.

It would be fine on the 2.2, quite a few people run them on M50B25's. All a pipe dream though anyway.

Fuel pump, injectors, clutch, etc...
I have done loads of NA-turbo conversions in the past. Always the same bits needing changed.
