Indeed they are a lot quieter than previous models, but i agree feel "slow" standard, especially in top. The map sorts that, as it did in the blob which was also flat in 6th.

see this is interesting, my mapper (Duncan graham) said they usually make under 300bhp stock, the last one he mapped was 265 bhp stock.

but my 2012 made 313bhp stock on the same rollers, not that im complaining haha.

Right I didn't realise the system worked in that way. Bet it takes some getting used to

Yes all good ta, had the 45 a month now and loving it, the interior is such a nice place to be, its seriously quick but does it all so refined so is taking some getting used to, the exhaust note is amazing, first car in about 10 years I've not had to put a custom exhaust on strauight away, pops and crackles from the factory!
If it's that high on power I would say it's not driveable. The std car has 250 odd and it spins 1,2,3rd if you're not light on the pedal. In the dry the grip is great but we live in the uk

Shopping around, looked at a 13 plate c63 but the payments were crazy and could get a new one for not much more. I've had 18 months to 2 years away from ownership so hence the thought of one of the current shapes. Anything AMG sounds fantastic out of the box and one reason I swayed to them, just that noise comes at a premium

i looked at a new 1 C63S but discounted it as its 65+ and in GT4 land, i won't buy anything 40k+ anymore unless i treat myself, I've done the 420BHP A45 and moved on. the new 500BHP Peugeot looks promising see how that fairs, or the new 300BHP Mini, time will tell and if i get the itch lol

I've (finally) managed to get the factory reversing camera working on the MFD, if anyone is interested. Just trying to source the original connectors at the moment, so it plugs into the original MFD connector.

I didn't bother with that as I found the mfd screen too small. so have a camera installed into my pioneer unit.

Very nice pair you've got there!...

I've got a quick question regarding tyres: I believe the 2015 WRX STi comes fitted with Dunlop SP Maxx RT? I am looking at potentially fitting these to my 2011 STi, whats everyones view on these tyres or would a different choice be wise?

I like the Dunlops on the new one, very good tyre. Looking at getting a new set soon, to fit on my new wheels, but bit hard to find the same tyre, with the same speed rating.

Yea that specific dunlop tyre is not sold here, you can only get them from Japan via a dealer. There are better brands of tyre to change to though. That's what i'll be doing next, when i'm due a new set.

Not sure yet think i will go for Ultrac sessanta tyres, as i really liked them on the blob. The dunlops are ok but they are noway as good as the ultrac's in the wet and the dunlops are a lot more expensive as well.

Goodyear F1 Assymetrics transformed my MY11. On my 3rd set now after 2 sets of the dunlops and wouldn't go back. Better rim protection to. Having said that I will also always run winter tyres as they are fantastic over the goodyear for anything below 10 degrees C and outstanding in the wet and snow.

Got F1's on the RB, very good tyre. Not noticed the wear though as I now don't do many miles in it. Maybe Eagles for the next set then.

Gave Thwaites Developments a visit on Thursday for a Miltek Decat down pipe, Cosworth filter and ECUtek remap.

After making 303bhp standard (I was over the moon with this) with just the miltek catback she made 330 bhp and 360 lb/ft.

The difference is night and day! I'd really recommend Mark, he's a top guy and a 1 man band so I you know it's done properly to the same standard every time.

I will post a proper build thread when it's finished and I get chance but thought I would mention it here for any one who maybe interested.
