Small update.
I've had a reply from the court stating that the parking company is contesting my charges! It gets better as they will now have to appear in court Their response has been signed by their Commercial Director so fingers crossed it'll be him that turns up in court.
From previous experience it may take a while to get a date, but once it's through I'll update again.

Here you go, a little inspiration for you. It's Parking Eye losing a case and having to pay costs: http://nebula.wsimg.com/53e672581a80...&alloworigin=1
In the case of the OP, I love how they claim to be able to charge you for entering in to a contract with them (which you didn't), but the same doesn't work the other way around.

Okay, had their response to my claim - prior to court. They state that there is no contract between the two of us and I have suffered no financial loss, so they shouldn't have to pay my £100 administration fee! Touché! What good for the goose etc etc etc. They just don't get it do they!

Only that I've been through meditation with them, to show willingness to the judge when it gets to court. Complete waist of time TBH, they wouldn't enter into any negotiation and just wanted me to drop my case. Their retaliation when I wouldn't was that they will take me to court to try to get me to pay their parking charge/invoice/fine. What's funny about it is that they seems to have sold this 'debt' on to another company who are now chasing me. I did phone them and ask that they print their demands on softer paper as it is a bit hard on my **** when wiping.

"Nothing to do with us m'lud, we sold the debt on before the case was lodged" etc
If i recall once an objection / court date has been raised, any pursuit for debt from a company must cease
prolly wrong ....

Plus in all likelihood the debt company will be a subsidiary of the parking company, that's usually how they operate.
Funny story. A few years ago my ex wife got one of these PCNs because her ticket was upside down in the window. I told her to chuck it away and forget about it, but she got worried when the threatening letters started arriving so she called them and spoke to the penalty charge manager who was called Franchesca Heskington (name changed to protect the not so innocent). She had a very thick Brummie accent and a slight stutter.
When she decided to start ignoring them again they handed the 'debt' to a 'debt collection agency' and after a few more of these sort of letters threatening all sorts again she got worried so called the 'debt collection agency' and spoke to a lady called Frankie Hesky who had a thick Brummie accent and a slight stutter.... but they were definitely a different company
She ignored them after that and they eventually went away!

I have another one - from a different parking company. I'm just giving them a thorough ignoring too. I was parked in the parking bay of one of my customers and was visiting the MD. I walked into the office only to be told the MD was out. Naturally, I didn't bother filling in the log for a parking permit and so turned around and left. I was away from my car for maybe 5 minutes and by the time I returned to it a parking Womble was taking a photograph having left a PCN on the windscreen. I explained that I'd been into the office but my contact was out, hence why I was leaving and why I hadn't put a temporary parking permit in the window. Said Womble was having none of it and said blah blah blah no permit blah blah blah. I spoke with the MD later who 'had it cancelled', but I continue to get threatening letters from them. Still, at least it's cost them money to chase me and I have a watertight case should it (yeah right!) ever go to court.

Had a letter from my local court yesterday, it looks like it will be held close to me. They're going to have to spend a day travelling to and fro, all the way to Truro, only about 5-6 hours each way at this time of year. Surely they'd have been better off just paying me the £100 now just waiting for a date.

Sometimes it is better to drop it than pursue a pointless case.
Here is an example

I had something similar. Got a charge for parking at some shops. They claimed I didn't use the shops and walked away. Proved I did by showing the receipt from Maplin's. Even escorted the jobsworth attendant into Maplin's for them to confirm it. The attendant just said he can't retract it as he's taken the photo now. At that point I lost it with him and gave him a piece of my mind.
Started to get the letters but got advice from Money Supermarket website who said to ignore. Got about 7 letters including threats of debt collectors and eventually they gave up.
Keep us posted.
