I've learnt to never say never, no plans to sell it after some use but I wouldn't rule anything out.
If you wanted a 450-470bhp car then it'll pretty good that's for sure, properly built fully forged engine with supporting modifications, reasonably fast and with massive torque from the 2.5 should make it an ideal road car.

A few more parts on the way which were ordered today.
I have ordered from Advanced Automotive in Bristol an RCM sump baffle plate and an RCM air pump delete kit. As usual with RCM the quality will be exceptional and the packaging will more than justify the price.
A Mishimoto radiator cowling with uprated cooling fans which will fit onto the standard radiator plus I also ordered a Japspeed uprated radiator as well, these are actually incredibly good value for money - they are well made and I'd happily recommend them over the factory fitted items.

Well my new turbo from EngineTuner has arrived, it's a Turbo Technics T36 with the larger exhaust housing from a T38 to allow it to hold boost for longer.
So it's a hybrid unit which should be far better suited to the 2.5 litre engine and being a relatively unknown turbo to Subaru owners will hopefully surprise with the figures achieved.
These are really cost effective units when compared to the Scoobyclinic Blouch units being 'only' £1080, this means they are a good amount cheaper than their competition.
The turbo comes with all the oil and coolant lines plus banjo unions etc and of course is a standard location fitment.

It won't be for a while yet but below is a graph from a Hawkeye STi which doesn't have dual AVCS so the Hatchback STi will spool lower down, plus hopefully make slightly more power.

Another item arrived today - the Mishimoto radiator cowl which has uprated twin fans to help keep the engine running at more consistent temperatures for longer. The quality is really good and the fans are a lot larger than the factory items.
I picked this up at a bargain price on eBay at less than 25% of the normal retail price.
It's a direct replacement for the factory item and even features the same wiring connections and comes with new stainless steel mounting hardware.

That's exactly what I'm aiming for, with improvements to the brakes and suspension/handling for good measure.
I've already had an effect on you with your wheel colour, I'll work my Jedi mind powers on you again.

Not Too Much More To Arrive...
Today a few more parts arrived in preparation for the forthcoming engine build, the plan is to get the engine out this weekend and get it off to Alyn @ AS Performance for it's fully forged CDB rebuild next week.
CDF Racing Parallel Fuel Rail Kit
Really good quality as you would expect from CDF Racing, at a very good price for the complete kit.
RCM Engine Oil Sump Baffle And Air Pump Delete Kit
As you would expect from RCM the quality is spot on, the packaging is as normal from RCM a work of art as are the fitment instructions.
Whilst I was about it I ordered some more of the genuine Subaru black oil filters and sump plug washers, I have heard so many stories about the blue filters that I'd rather not risk using them.
Plus a set of IAG Performance rear lamp overlays arrived this afternoon as well, the first overlays I bought were quite frankly rubbish and easy to see why they were a lot cheaper than the IAG items.

Not planned Kev, I might still do but when I had an oil cooler on my Spec C it was too efficient and kept the engine temperatures too low.
I think with the updated radiator and fans there won't be too many issues with temperatures, that's unless I come across a bargain that is.

Damn, Damn And Blast
After receiving the Japspeed radiator and inspection it was found not to be up to standard and certainly not worthy of becoming the weak point of the build.
I spoke to Japspeed and they have had a batch of what are now poorly manufactured radiators, so they have uplifted the offending article and given me a full refund. The quality of the their radiator that was fitted to the 22B was surprisingly good and fantastic value for money, but unfortunately the Hatchback STi radiator wasn't a patch on it for quality.
So today I have ordered a Mishimoto X Line radiator which has an uprated core and will give far better cooling and flow, these are what can be described as top of the range motorsport radiators and just about the best you can buy.

Having seen the quality of their radiator cowling and fan assembly plus their cold air induction kit I can testify that you would struggle to find better even from a bespoke manufacturer.

So the engine removal is underway, unfortunately due to time constraints it wasn't completed.
All the preparation work has been done so it it literally just a matter of using the overhead lift and then it can be out and ready to be sent away to AS Performance.
Plus Ryan also removed my front brakes so that I can put them up for sale, the callipers are in excellent condition, and even the usual problem with the caliper mounting threads having pulled out hasn't happened meaning that somebody must have previously taken a lot of care.
I will post up a for sale thread in the relevant forum and post up a link later, obviously for locals I can sort out delivery in person which will reduce the price slightly.

A little bit quiet due to being flat out with work plus other commitments but will soon be back on track, I have been quietly accumulating more items required and these are a Torques FPR plus unions.
A full Cobra 3" exhaust decat and non resonated exhaust system (although if it is too loud then it will be having a resonated centre section fitted).
Plus I ended up ordering 100 metres of titanium heat wrap as the cost of getting the exhaust headers, up pipe, down pipe and centre section was a little eye watering to say the least.
I have also ordered some rear fog lamps that allow them to be relocated into the lower rear bumper in place of the rear red reflectors, they are still reflectors but then also act as the fog lamps as well - this will allow me to use the original fog lamp position as an extra reversing lamp.
Plus of course I am waiting on the imminent delivery of the Mishimoto radiator plus the CDF Racing turbo jacket.
I also want to do something with the rear hatch spoiler, I was thinking about going for the Perrin riser kit to make it look a little different but I really cannot decide on it or not.
Or if a little more extreme something similar to the below Varis spoiler (but perhaps not as it is definitely Marmite that is for sure):
Or even the R205 rear hatch spoiler.
But I just feel that the rear hatch spoiler needs something to 'jazz' it up as the rear end of the car just seems to be lacking something.

The last major thing to sort out is an uprated conventional clutch and this should be sorted really soon with the help of Alyn @ AS Performance.
I really don't want a paddle, twin or even triple plate clutch so the options are somewhat limited but Alyn may well have come up trumps.
