Great choice ty, I had my concerns regarding the 2.5 when I bought my hatch wrx but as you know I've given her some abuse and I love it the torque is amazing low down and with a good turbo and forged, re map you won't be disappointed the misses loves driving it smooth then I get to play on weekends nd I can stick the dog in the boot if I want to (I've only taken him in it twice, don't want to mess it up lol) but I can if I want to. Be nice to have another hatch about. Pitty andy didn't keep his aswell it would of been great to see them all even if mine is only a wrx but you'd be supprised

I will be getting mine remapped first just to ensure that the engine does not give way before I am ready to get it sorted which will be some time towards the end of the year / next spring.

I don't think I've changed my underwear as much as you've changed cars this year lol.
I do like the hatch, lovely looking.
When are you expecting to collect the car? Soon I assume with the list of parts haha.
Looking forward to the pics Ty

I will be picking the car up in early August, some parts are already on the way or already with me, some of the others are just in the process of being sorted.
I was considering going for an R26 F1 230 in liquid yellow after seeing Jarvis's latest car, if I could have found an R26R at a price I was willing to pay then I would have been picking up one of them instead.

Haha! Indeed Ty, they even wash themselves in the toilet water.
The Megane is a good bit of kit for the money now, although I'm currently disliking the triangle badge at the moment.. Mines having some issues lol.
I'm surprised you didn't put an order in for a track spec Meg 275 Trophy that's due in September

For the exhaust trim, is this what you meant?

Or same part but a little cheaper -

To be fair though any car can develop spurious faults and Subaru are no different, I hope it gets sorted out soon for you.
There are some here aswell:

Have to disagree, I had a foggy STB and while they are a good car they are left somewhat wanting when it comes to pushing on a little, I'm sure the more modern STI variants are a little better but you can't get away from the higher centre of gravity, which is why I've ended up with what I feel is the best of both worlds, WRX Wagon PPP with some light handling mods, (springs and bushes) and AP4 pots, has enough power to be entertaining when i'm in the mood yet comfortable and practical on a day to day basis. I know it's not the most powerful subaru around but it behaves well enough on the road, has enough mid range pull and stops as it should with no fade.
As you know better than most Ty you can spend a fortune on these cars and still have someone like me in a **** box £4k WRX sat on your bumper through the twisty bits and beyond sensible speeds.
I think your making the right choice, your obviously a bit of a driver based on your car history and I think you'd be in and out of a fozzy way faster than your previous cars as they're just not focused enough, not that my WRX is that focused but it does have the edge when driven hard.
Not taking anything away from the forester because I think they are great and even like the looks, they're just a bit boaty when you kick your heels and try and stand it on it's nose.
Bare in mind my other car is an STI Type R and i'm 48 so grew up with crap brakes, sloppy suspension and rear wheel drive.

I've owned a dozen Impreza's of all classic & New Age ilk and and still consider my Forester immensely capable for XC progress (have the Type R for ultimate tarmac terror)
The handling is spot on - OE. I have changed out the rarb, but that's it. It really doesn't need anything else - STi did what I would consider a much better job on it than they did with most other STi's
Anywat, we're not trying to convince the OP, he already knows (nice choice btw, as is your car ditch - wagons rule as I've always maintained - I've owned a few)

Well I have sorted out a lot of the parts that I was considering for the Hatchback STi, a lot of them are on order or already on their way from the suppliers.
So far I have got sorted :
Japanparts - R205 rear bumper diffuser and wing emblems (black carbon fibre)
Keith Price Garages - rear bumper exhaust trims, rear hatch waist level spoiler and door window deflector set
Dan @ Three Arches - Zunsport STi lower grille in black
IM via eBay - alternative STi front grille
Off a Scoobynet member - Revolution cat back exhaust system
Off thenewgalaxy Scoobynet member- Prodrive GT2 19" wheels
Off Rob84 Scoobynet member - USDM clear rear light to remove ugly red fog light insert
Off Salsa King Scoobynet member - rear light tints to remove the lexarse look of the rear lamps
I am looking at getting a front splitter plus side skirt extensions but I am still unsure about what exactly I want at the moment.

The hatch depending on the STi model comes in either 17'' or 18'' wheels Rob, the 19'' wheels are an option from the factory / dealer network.
I meant which type of splitter I want Rob, as there are loads of options and styles.

With a bit of luck Rob, he'll end up putting all the nice goodies on it, drive it for a few hundred miles or so, change his mind and then I can take it off his hands.

, I know what you meant lol, but I saw the opportunity for a giggle and said it before anyone else :-p
Plenty of options out there for wheel etc then, 19's sound like they'll fill the arches nicely, looking forward to seeing this and taking it over the playground for a run :-D

Well put it this way Jay, I certainly wouldn't commit to buying another car if you have an itch for a hatch, the chances are very high (infact Ladbrokes have stopped taking bets) that it will only be in his possession for 3-6 months lmfao

He's got to reach his 5 page thread count first and then the for sale thread will appear.

Yes I think the wheels will fill the arches nicely but it still might need lowering.

The plan is to keep this one for the long stretch, but having said that that's been my plan with previous cars as well.
But I'm getting this car with the intention of modifying it, so unlike previous cars where I didn't want to ruin the car by modifying them too much.

Typical of you Ty, you find a set of GT2 's and I've been looking for weeks
I've been trying to get prices/ availability from some dealers but no joy yet.
Keep a look our for another set for me if you would be so kind
Thanks

You'd be fine in the car game, you would need to show a little more restraint though!! Don't forget I've still got your mid-pipe there
Dave.
