I knew it was coming but I'm still kind of sad. 8 and a half years isn't a bad stretch.

The fan has been going mental on my Macbook all morning, I'd forgotten it had one.

The cause is Photos analysing my images, which is a great feature so worth it.

Its a weird thing because it was a massive update, yet in Apple style i feel like its the same LOL

Its like getting a new IPAD at xmas, within 10 minutes its exactly the same as your old iPad LOL...

Siri is cool... But i am a nooby at MAC so its all probably hiding from me....

So is it worth upgrading my MacBook from Yosemite whilst I've got it on?

Yes. Make sure you have plenty of time, there's a lot of indexing to be done, the photo stuff is astonishing but taxing on my old machines. I don't have Bluetooth 4 so miss a lot of good stuff but keep finding little things that work for me. Even Siri and I'm not a fan of talking to your computer.

Yeah I decided to go for it in the end, so it's chugging away upstairs as we speak.

I put ios 10 on my iPad this morning as well, I have to say it was good of Apple to deem the end user capable of making the choice as to whether they want to keep factory installed apps. managed to get back about 2gb by the time I got rid of GarageBand and a couple of other apps.
