Walwal 10 March 2004, 23:20 Alyn, it's definitely not you that he says has advised him about the pump, or the prices, he just did some phoning around (I'm only the poster on the internet, cos he hasn't got a computer). Steve Simpson told him about the extra stuff that MAY be needed. Please don't think that was what my post was getting at. He did mention he'd spoke to you a while back, but I know for a fact that this is not your advice.
Like I said in my previous post, Craig couldn't remember if it was an oil or fuel pump that had been mentioned, so don't qoute me on which, but I think the price he's got is for the oil pump. If it's only a £95 fuel pump he might need, that'll ease his mind.
As far as the coilpacks go, Alyn will probably be the best to answer, as he worked on Craigs car when he first got it, with an overboosting (I think) problem, which he got sorted.
I'll give him a knock tomorrow, and show him your posts here, I'm sure he'll be pleased.
Thanks lads,
Andy.

SUBTYPER 16 March 2004, 02:26 back to the very top of page one anybody else wanna GEMS EVU for their car at discounted price or anybody else gonna send their cheque. If you no longer require GEMS Please just pull out of the group buy so we cna get this thing sorted.
SPLITTER 17 March 2004, 20:33 cant believe this has slipped afetr all this time
cmon guys get it together
SUBTYPER 18 March 2004, 02:02 Right to the top once more. Well I have private messaged the persons who have not sent their cheques yet and had no reply apart from V45 thanks mate. I am currently waiting for word from Steve that he has received the cheques that were outstanding including yours and mine Splitter. If we dont get 15 cheques then what we can do is go ahead with the group buy in anycase and add £75.00 on to the bill for each of us. I will ask anybody reckon they wouldnt be up for that to let me know. The what ever the majority of people want we will do.
STi Paul 18 March 2004, 20:00 So SUB,
Are you an official advertiser on SN or WOT LOL
Paul
MISS SCOOBY STI 18 March 2004, 20:31 being moving house, so just got Internet access back today - :D.
Was expecting to see more action on the GB than this! Car returns tomorrow - :D:D - so can we get cracking on this? Was hoping to have mine done early April, cos hoping to do a trackday end of april - and I want my go-faster GEMS (and re-map!) and active diff fitted b4 then, so I can have some fun!
SUBTYPER 19 March 2004, 19:52 Sorry for not keeping an eye on this lately but My Grandmother is in the final stages of heart and Lung failure and I dont think she has many days left. I would be willing to pay the extra £75.00 for Gems if everybody thats sent the cheques wants to go ahead with it please let me know how you all feel. Cpme on this is dragged on to long now so lets get it sorted.
TopBanana 19 March 2004, 20:34 I might be interested but have a few questions.
Is launch control only available on >01 cars?
Can I have at mapped at my place in Reading?
How long can I wait to have the work done? I'm about to do a fair bit of work to the car.
How much would a subsequent remap cost?
TopBanana 19 March 2004, 20:36 Sorry to hear about your Grandmother SUBTYPER
SUBTYPER 19 March 2004, 21:34 Launch Control is available on the ver5 Sti Imprezas aswell so that would make the Sti`s from about 99.
Steve will map the car at your place in Reading and depending on mileage will charge something like 40p per mile although I wilget that confirmed. If there is more than two of you in the area getting the mapping done at same time you could split the cost of Steves travelling expenses.
The time scale is 50% cheque as soon as physically possible to Steve Simpson then the time scale between him receiving the cheque and final instalation is down to yourself. Already people have mentioned they would wait for a few months or till the end of the year.
I cant remember what the cost is for remaps as I got a lot going on at moment. I will ask the question on Monday and also get an updated paid cheque list aswell.
Johnny sti 20 March 2004, 13:06 what about anti lag?
Is it an option on 93 wrx?
Thanks
SUBTYPER 20 March 2004, 18:14 Yeah johnny the Wrx93 can have anti lag and its no extra cost for anti lag. You can even ask Steve how mild you want it.
RichieD 22 March 2004, 17:57 Whats the current state of this group buy??
How many people do we have (firstly paid up.. and secondly intending to buy)
Where geographically are those that *have* paid (so we can try and arrange alternative fitting/mapping locations)?
Have we heard from Steve recently?? (is he back from the US).
Can we have a definitative cut off date so we all know where we stand? (a bit rich from me seeing as i've only just joined the group buy :-) )...
SPLITTER 22 March 2004, 20:00 well steve rang me today just to confirm my order so it seems things r taking off:p
yeahww
SUBTYPER 23 March 2004, 01:54 Hello this is Simon.
As you all know at moment John is dealing with his terminal ill granmother. He has asked me to pass on his apologies and has told me to paste up he will get Steve to start organising the fitment dates. For everybody that ahs sent cheques aparently we are upto ten. The group buy is still open and going ahead witht aking extra people on. The price that ahs been agreed with Steve is the original group buy price plus £75.00 as we have only secured ten peoples cheques. We would need another 5 of the original people to reply and go ahead with it. We are going to finally close this group buy at the end of April if not sooner. John will be speaking to Steve tomorrow and getting everybody sorted. I hope you can all just bear with me and him till then. Thanks.
Johnny50 23 March 2004, 13:31 Yep.
Steve is back.
He's fitting mine up in Edinburgh on friday.
I was part of the 1st group buy !!!!
Only just got round to getting all my parts fitted !! :)
The Fixer 23 March 2004, 13:51 Second Hand GEMS to cars MY01 + in the "For Sale Section" A bargain for somebody.
Johnny50 24 March 2004, 09:47 As i mentioned...i get mine on friday...
Does anyone know how he does the Anti-lag ?
Does he just turn it up/down to whatever you like ?
nescoob1 24 March 2004, 15:45 Just been pointed to this thread from the drivetrain section and would be very interested in getting my 98V4 Type R done, just a couple of questions first:-
With the Gems is the Maf sensor still in use?
Is anyone else signed up who lives in the North East?
Who would I make the cheque out to and where do I send it?
Sorry to sound thick about the maf sensor but I have had 2 go on seperate cars amounting to around £500 of my hard earned cash.
Cheers
Simon
