Caliper piston - straight swap?
I've got a brand spanking new stainless steel Caliper Piston, weighs a ton, will it be a straight swap for the sticky rusty one in the rear Caliper or do I need new seals?

Ideally you should change the seals , you will see once you remove them , have a good look at them , if all edges are still sharp , and there are no nicks in them they will be fine to use again , same with the dust boot , as long as there are no tears in them they will be fine.
Clean the top of the bore as there is likely to be rust there that needs removing before fitting the new pistons
Cheers Ian

Right had the caliper in bits today, the pistons and cylinders were all rust and score free, the issue was one of the seals seemed to have swelled a little maybe and getting the piston in and out was tough going.
The mechanics doing the work were adamant the pistons removed were stainless steel.

Removed Piston stuck to a magnet.
Freeing two sticking pistons has been nice for the MPG! Along with the stiffer ARB my MPG has gone from 30 to 36.7MPG! That's around town surprisingly I can only manage 35MPG on the Motorways at 60mph.
