Goodyear Eagle F1's or Yokohama Prada Spec 2's?
That time of year again and fancy a change in tyre. Have run Falken 452's for a while now and got on pretty well with them, however they have discontinued them now.
So looking around the £100 mark per corner and the above 2 have come up. Anyone have any info on these, good/bad?
Cheers

What's the usage for?
Re070 are a really good tyre and have very solid sidewalls and good in the dry and odd track blast but crap in rain.
*** 2 are a good all round tyre which will cope well in dry and wet (which I'd prefer for a dd)
As above prada are not worth it compared to what you've suggested.
If its track tyre you want then out of the 3 would be re070 but then again I'd get a 'proper' track tyre, non of the above

I've ran all of the tyres mentioned.
I found the Prada spec 2 to be a decent tyre in the warmer months when pushing on but absolutely dreadful on a damp or greasy road.
RE070 I found to be a pretty good, not bad in damp or rain, terrible in freezing conditions, get a lot of tram lining with them once they start to go off / rock solid
Eagle f1 I found to be the best all rounder imho, better in the rain than any of the above, decent grip levels in the warm, I found they give a bit more on the sidewall when hard cornering if that makes sense, not so much tyre roll but get feedback so to speak if they are about to let go on their limits.
Suppose different tyres are going to suit different drivers and their styles of driving, I'm sure others have found different to what I have. When the RE070's are fresh and in warm weather I would have to say they offer the most grip over the others, so if it's just a summer car so to speak then happy days, if it's an all year car like I use mine then I would be changing from them without doubt, car was fecking useless last year on them

Yokohama AD08s are worth a good look at for the type of driving you describe.
I run these (mainly summer/track) and also a set of F1 Assyms.
RE070s are basically a 10 year old tyre and things have moved on considerably since then IMO.

ps a lot of people absolutely rave about these - haven't tried them myself.
Vredestein Tyres / Car / Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta - 225/45 R17 94Y XL TL
at £69 a corner all in from Camskill.
Might be the go.

I have just put these on my M3 to replace Continental M3 specific and in my opinion they're night and day better. A lot more feel, a lot less tram lining and about £70/corner cheaper.

Just had Goodyear asymmetrics fitted replacing the previous pair of asymmetrics. Very good tyres and long lasting and I had Goodyear Eagles before that. I also found the Bridgestones very hard and tramliney with age.
