Godspeed Kevlar Brake Pads
Hi All,
I rebuilt my front calipers about 6 months ago with 8x new stainless pistons and new seals etc and ATE Super Blue fluid. At the same time I fitted a set of Kevlar pads to the front (All bought from Godspeed).
The first few months everything seemed ok, but I've noticed increasing brake judder from the front end. The Kevlar pads seem to be leaving alot of deposits around the disc and you can physically see that they're not even and in a sort juddered pattern around the disc.
If I give it a bed in process of hard stops I can get them to clean up and the brakes are smooth again. But after a day or so of normal use (not hard use) the judder is back .
The pads are low now anyway and I really don't fancy buying another set and having the same issues. Are there any similar priced pads that you guys would recommend?
Cheers,
Scott

If driving normally you shouldn't get deposits , maybe if there was hardly any material on them and they were overheating it might happen, buts that's the whole point of the kevlar pads , they are a very mild pad compared to a lot of performance pads and suitable for everyday driving
How much pad material is left on your pads.
Also when you fitted the pistons , did you clean all the rust from the top lip inside the bore in the calipers , as these rust , and if you don't get it all off they continue to rust and will tighten up onto the pistons , so even though you have fitted stainless steel pistons , they will never rust , but the caliper still can , check to see if the pistons move freely
Cheers Ian

There is probably about 4 or 5mm left on the pads (would need to physically measure, the squeal tabs aren't touching), there's enough meat on them for a while but they're obviously starting to wear low. The calipers were cleaned of rust and the pistons move freely. The pads are all wearing evenly too.
You can physically see the deposits around the discs, I've noticed it ever since they've been fitted. The car is running standard plain discs, they're not grooved or drilled.
To me its fairly obvious that the deposits are causing it as they can be cleaned off with a few hard stops (80 - 30 etc).

Your not driving a BMW now are you matetake the advice from myself and Ian I have driving a 500+bhp Subaru and my mate has the CL pads fitted and they were very very good,I would never recommend a pad that I have not driven with or would not be prepared to buy for myself.SJ.
