Default Blobeye wrx brakes

Picked up my blobeye wrx a few weeks back and one thing I've defo come to realise is how woeful the brakes are especially compared to my previous dc2. Now the car had brand new oem discs and pads all round 5/6months ago fitted by previous owner, so I'm wondering the best route to upgrade them but it seems a waste to replace them all again.

Will a set of Kevlar pads suffice or should I go for new discs and pads up front??

Cheers
Leeroy

The brakes really are woeful!! Kinda makes driving a little more exciting though - will it/won't it stop lol

I don't wanna fork out for the brembo set up (and your insurer might raise an eyebrow if you have a claim and haven't said about the bigger brakes...) so there must be some sort of upgraded (but same sized) disc and pad combo. Any suggestions?

Sometimes the pistons don't move freely as they're mild steel coated in stainless, The stainless wears and the mild corrodes so that won't help.
So a rebuild might make them more efficient, I went for the brembo option with god speed discs an pads and they're brilliant

On my 05 WRX I have got standard 4 pots with groove/dimple discs and oem pads. I think they are brilliant! I have also had a DC2 Integra so I know how good these cars are at stopping too.

May be your callipers need a rebuild? Braided hoses always help too.

Depends if you plan on tracking I guess.
