Brake Judder
Hi to all of you who read my thread. Just to let everyone know I have just bought my first Subaru 2 days ago. It's an Impreza WRX 2004. It has been fantastic to drive round town where I live, no problems, and I love it. The only problem is that I took it on the motorway and when I applied the brakes they started Juddering quite badly. When that happened I realised that the engine management light had also come on. Both problems persisted until I got out of the car for a few hours and then when I got back in both issues had disappeared.
I'm no mechanic but when I checked the brakes before purchase they seemed fine.
Does anyone know if this is a common problem or what the solution is?
If I need to change discs and pads does anyone have any recommendations for an uprated set?
Thanks again for reading the post, this car is going to be my pride and joy for years to come.

Could be several things, it's a fairly common problem which i have had myself.
Some calipers suffer from stuck pistons which can cause this symptom, other causes are deposit buildup on the disks, out of true disks, worn suspension components. Chat to Ian at Godspeed on here he sells decent disks and pads and assuming you have a standard WRX there is no need to spend mega money on brakes.
Engine light coming up is not likely linked to the brake problem, if it comes on again you need to urgently get the fault code read though.
