Default EBC Pads in Brembo Calipers

I just bought an 08 STI and took it to Litchfields for Stage 2. Ian & crew recommended that i do something about the brakes - or lack of, so i decided on 2part discs and EBC Oange Stuff. When i took the front calipers off i found very worn Yellow stuff pads that were jammed tight in calipers. After clean up i tried to install Orange Stuff and found they too were way to tight. They seemed to be snarling up on some rough pressing flash on the steel edges of the pads. I have machined edges of pads down a few thou' and now they slide in fine. My question is has anyone else had this problem with EBC pads and could this be linked to ebc pads overheating because they are not releasing?

It's not the pad but the caliper. You need to remove the plates screwed to tthe calipers & thoroughly clean underneath with a scraper or file. However grinding the pads down will work but it's not the best long term solution.
