Tyre Stretching?
Hi all,
Just ordered some nice new rims and tyres. I've gone for the recomended tyre fitment on them but have seen some where the tyres are stretched across the wheel. This looks cool, but is there any reason for it? What difference does it make and should I have thought of doing this? (the car is a daily driver and offten take the kids out in her, so dont want any risks! and is a '51 bugeye wrx).
Thanks in advance!!

may be wrong but i think its done so that wheels can be fitted to be closer or very close to the arches so reducing the chance of rubbing.very popular with the volks fraternity as well cos on the right car can look pretty cool but personally dont think it would suit a scooby . imho of course

Thanks Kev, got them now, with abit of a stretch, think they would have had abit of an arch rub if the tyres were full width. Thanks for the reply tho
