Largest Tyre Width on Bug STI Alloys

As above, I have a set of 235/45 17 tyres to fit on my bug wrx with STI alloys. I have been told they might rub at least on the rear struts. Can anyone confirm if I'll be ok with the above, before I get them all fitted!

Nope should be fine, my mate has these on, but may also depend how soft your shocks are, if they are wrx shocks then maybe, but if sti shocks then no. I used these tyres for track on wrx waggon blob on sti struts and all fine.
