Default Bugeye wheel fitment.

I've recently purchased a Bugeye WRX and i plan on changing the wheels.
Would be grateful on some advice...

Would i be able to fit an 18 x 9.5 ET 38 or ET 35. I realise I will probably need to roll the arches. I plan to run 215/40/18 Nankang NS-2's.

Hi there

You can fit them, but you will need as you are said arches rolled, coilovers and camber bolts.
About the tyres, those your mentioned will not fit on the 9.5JX18" you will need at least 225/40 and you will be have stretched look, for non-stretched look you will need at least 235/40(245/40 would be my recommendation)

Best will be speak here to Mags about the your mentioned alloys

Still think you should be better with 235/40 or 245/40.But if you want stretched looks 225/40 should be OK,but with 215/40 you are risking,Nankang are not the best tyres at first

Hi there

No is not, wagon never been as wide track, only saloon has been wide track,we are still running 5X100

We are thinking to upgrade the wide track just due stronger driveshafts etc,but maybe we will upgrade driveshafts to stronger ones

Nankangs are you sure? They aren't the best tyre.

Jura,

Thanks for the response. I will swap hawkeye transmission and suspension to my bugeye like January "13. However i have no clue about newwheel fitment, which is not decided yet. I mean, how wide is it? Running Oz Racing Superleggra 18"x 8 with 225/40/18 at the moment. Perhaps i would like to save tyres after those huge costs.

Hi there

Yours OZ Racing Superleggera they're only for 5x100 or they're too for 5X114.3 ? You can run 5X114.3 to 5X100 adapter which can be great if you don't want to loose yours OZ alloys

If you will be swapping the gearbox and suspension you will be swapping the hubs too ?If yes,you will need new alloys if yours OZ are only for 5X100,current 225/40 tyres you should be able to use on yours without the problem

Yep, We will do the swap with all 07 STI undercarriage parts. Actually, my concern is about the axle lenght. After the swap, i don't want the wheel go to wide off the shell. You are correct. We have to do a CNC'd hub and give a try for it. Thanks Jura

Sorry Samu, i trolled your thread a little bit. If i were you and i would def wait to increase budget for the wheel/tyre. Some of my friends and me made the same mistake years ago and then on a rainy day, with low speed, suddenly it happened and then BAMP!
