What is brake fade?
I was recently having a bit of fun with a golf r32. I was following him down a long hill and at the bottom of the hill the brakes felt useless I had to really stamp down on the brakes to come to a stop for the round about. Is this brake fade? This has never happened before and the brakes normally feel fine. Currently have standard discs and pads on a uk turbo.

I have recently changed the suspension which meant I had to disconnect the brake lines. So I changed the brake fluid to dot 5.1 at the same time, system bled and checked for leaks etc. can the fluid / brake hoses cause fade as well?

When the pedal stays firm but there is no longer any slowing effect, that is pad fade. Upgrade to better pads. When the pedal goes soft or to the floor it is because the fluid has boiled. Change to braided brake line and better fluid.

Thanks for the replys guys.
Has anyone had any experience with the Godspeed grooved disks and Kevlar pads?
Would these be a good option for me? I dont want to spend big bucks buying a big disk upgrade kit.
