What tyres on 9.5" wide wheels
I'm looking like getting a set of 18x9.5" wheels for my Blob WRX, it's currently just on prodrive springs but I hope to get coilovers (and arches rolled) in the not too distant future. I was wondering what would be the best tyre size as I've seen loads of 235/40s on them but also 245/40s, 225/40s (think this is too extreme) and 255/35s, the car is my daily driver.

That's pretty handy as I'm running 225/40s that still have 3-4mm tread at the mo that I could just swap over then save up for 255/35s to get a bit more tread on the road.
Could I get away with both these set ups without arch rolling and camber bolts?

that looks the business, same wheels as I'm looking at too. Is that an off the shelf kit for the arches you've got or custom work? I've been advised by my mechanic mate that its not worth transfering my tyres at 3mm odd so think I'll look at the 255/35s and worry about rolling arches when I can afford coilovers.

Just to clarify do the 255s need major mods to the arches and camber bolts with the normal offset of the Rota Grid Drifts or are they similar to the 225s so only require a bit of an arch roll when dropped on coilovers?
Also what 255/35s are you looking to go for, I'm shopping about at the moment.

I take it the rear bumper would also have to be moded, is there someone out there that can do this as a kit do you know?

Yes mate
I had this done by scoobyclinic talk to the gaffer their Kev saying you want same as mick Gavin (me) I'm sure he'll sort you out as Steve @ scoobyclinic is a genius mate .
Yes unless your 05 plus sti rear bumper needs work so they may do an exchange rear bumper for rear .... But your better off talking to Kev
Hope this helps
Any help needed just let me no
