best mid range priced tyres to put on 17" newage
As per title really best mid to high range tyres for 17's
I have managed to sorce (from a fellow scoobynetter thankyou) a set of origanal 17'S from what should of been on the car from new. I am now looking for tyres for them there seems to be quite high regard for Falcon 452's on here for scoobs but are they any good on 17s and on a heavy newage?. will prob get the tyres from camskill so prices not to bad . will be after 225/45/17 sizes.
I am looking forward to getting the 19's off what's currently on the car and getting 17's on for playing on back roads/corners . and getting the car fully set up alignment wise as currently its tail happy with massive over steer lol luckily im used to tail happy cars but could have easily ended up in a hedge if i wasn't lol
The tyres I get will have to be everyday friendly (not track) as i use the car everyday work and back etc and need not to wear too quick but be good for back road fun in wet and dry conditions with lots of grippyness.

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 do well in tests and we like them on another car in 225/40R18, the older Goodyear Eagle F1 were always good on the Scooby in 17" size, with good wear and wet weather as well as dry performance, great all rounder.

All season tyres are a jack of all trades but master of none, they are a compromise, you would be better off with 2 sets of tyres, one for summer and one for winter over all season tyres.

I just put Verdestein Ultrac Cento's on my 97 type r http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Vr...trac-Cento.htm
Seem to be superior to Falken 452's i had on before but only my 2 cents..!!
I went for a 215/45/17 instead of 215/40/17 to try and make it bit more comfortable cause roads around my area are brutal...

I went to demon tweeks and got the 452.s put on so got to scrub them off now :-) . Car feals more planted and lower cant wait to have a play :-) . The origanal wheels look crap compaired but they making the handling lot better so its a tossup between looking good and handling fab I opted for handling :-) a scoob just has to be driven :-)
