Default handbrake light on!!

hi Guy

I have had the brake fluid change on the car today and for some reason the handbrake light is constantly on any ideas

The reason i had the fluid change is because my brakes feels spongy, would the fluid be the reason? the disk are perfect and the pad are half used on all 4's

I havent driven the car yet, so dont know how the brakea are... The car is a bugeye 2003 wrx

thanks

Will

As well as handbrake warning it's a brake fluid warning. Don't drive the car until youv checked your fluid level. The float may be stuck but if the fluid is low was it not topped up or do you have a leak. I'd go back to who did it & complain.

Hi mate, I changed mine at the weekend and the handbrake light stayed on until i drove it a good few miles, then went.

If your fluid levels are fine and there's no leaks, go take it for a drive, pretty sure the same will happen for you.

More than likely the float is stuck.. Had the same on mine.. Just got a screwdriver and gave it a tap, never happened again since.

Same happened to me after changing brake pipe and fluid top up

Went off after half an hour probably just needs to reset itself

But do check your levels first !!
