Best upgrade for RB5 brakes with standard wheels
Hi,
My front discs are badly warped on my RB5 so I want to replace them, however I am wondering whether I can replace them with bigger / better discs and calipers from another impreza (new age, p1 etc). I don't want to spend out hundreds and hundreds on aftermarket upgrades, which is why I am looking to swap standard for standard if that makes sense. I would guess standard RB5 brakes aren't as good as standard new age breaks, but I'm not sure, and I'm also not sure if they are swappable items...?
Thanks in advance people

Don't bother. Stick with the 4-pots and good discs and pads with decent brake lines. Anything else is expensive. Plus the wheels will limit the size of caliper and you don't want to go changing the wheels on an RB5.

If you looking for good powerful brakes but using the original calipers then the best you can fit by a long way is my 335mm kit
http://www.godspeedbrakes.co.uk/~god...id_product=121
It is the largest kit you can fit with the Subaru 4 pots as fitted to the RB5 , and will still fit under the standard wheels.
We only offer grooved discs now as pads are so much better they can generate a lot more heat which can cause drilled discs to crack , but here is a picture I took many moons ago of a kit under RB5 wheels , we even reconditioned his calipers to match the car as well

They look lovely! However the price isnt what I am really looking to spend. Don't really want to spend more than £200 for discs and pads. Do you have something in that price range?

Would that be the same price for a 98 v4 sti as I'm looking at getting new discs and pads soon?
