Default Rear pads rubbing?

Over the last week I've noticed that when I pull away from starting up the back brakes seem to be stuck ever so slightly then as I roll forward they release and all is well apart from a slight rubbing noise off the rear discs. The rubbing noise gets worse only from the rear again when I brake. Would this be worn pads? I have no room to take the wheels off and have a looks so thought I'd try here first before getting parts.
