Default Is this puncture repairable?

Got a puncture on my brand new winter tyres (been on 2 weeks!) day before yesterday. Bolt has gone right through, lost a bit of pressure but it has settled now and seems to be holding pressure. Hoping to get a repair but I have read that they may not repair punctures that are close to the sidewall. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the info, wasnt doubting you, confirmed what i was starting to think. If, as this shows, a usual repair isnt do-able, do they still do repairs using an inner tube at all?

edit: Just answered my own question by reading all of the btma info

No mate as far as I know we don't tube a tyre if it's past the legal repair points as water etc will enter the casing via the hole tht could cause a blow out and such like anything past a 70% profile will not be tubed I am not keen on tubing as modern tubeless tyres have aggressive internal moulding from when they are made and can rub against the tube and cause a rapid deflation so on so forth

It is repairable, any puncture is, its just wether you know a tyre fitter through being friends rather than going to a tyre place etc.

Luckily my mums chap fits tyres etc and i had exactly the same issue, he rapired it etc and it lasted a further 10k miles

As said, legally its a no no, but if you knew a tyre fitter, then it is repairable.

well if some will is willing and silly enough to repair an illegal punture so be it its on your own car so be it but if u had a blowout and a crash and hurt others for the sake of a new tyre .. point made i am not going to argue with ppl tht do i have seen what happends in my tyre trade times, lorry car etc roadside non roadside i have seen the aftermarth at the end of the day it illegal for a reason

Think I would rather stay within the law and go for the safe option, its just hassle to order a new tyre in to match the others, especially as they are winters and the greedy companies have all put the prices up by about 25% since I got them!

Of course, its all down to personal choice etc, if its for a mth or 2 until new funds can allow a new tyre to be bought etc, a friend fitter could do it and as also said, it is illegal but not illegal like drink driving but again,if you want to feel secure, buy anew tyre, i was merely stating any puncutre is repairable (apart from side walls and proper right on the edge lol)

i plug bike tyres also wheras some riders act like ive just rammed the queen when i say that

I also hate my local main franshise places when they say they wont fit 2nd hand tyres as they cant verify its condition Grrrr

Unfortunately I dont know any local tyre fitters but going to pop to a few smaller places tomorrow morning. Got it in my mind that I will need a new tyre now, just got to bite the bullet, these things happen I guess (however i will still ask them about repair). Only planned to keep them on until feb/mar as they are winters, got a set of 18s with 4 Yokohama's to go on for the spring/summer.

Ordered a new tyre today, should be sorted in a couple of days, hoping the bolt will stay put until then as it is currently holding pressure, but pumped up the spare today in case i need to make a change
