Default Classic Master Cylinder

Hi all,

Recently gone to (subaru) 4 pots on the front of my V2 STi. Brakes are much better and hang on pretty well on track now, but i do get a slightly longer brake pedal, as expected.

Any ideas on a different master cylinder to help things? Non-ABS....

Or have you all just put up with a longer brake pedal?

Thanks,

Robbie

Fit a brake master cylinder stopper. Chris at CDF does them for reasonable money.

I also have alot of pedal travel after fitting 4 pots to my 95 wrx which has abs,
I have bleed them a few time but still the same,
So i would also like to no if there is any difference in the master cylinders.

Just had a look at those stoppers, but it doesnt change the fact that I have to displace more fluid with larger calipers,

Although i appreciate that with OEM bulkheads/servos etc you get some movement when braking hard,

Ideally looking for a larger 2-port cylinder, if it exists!

I went from 2 pots to 4 pots, had a bit of extra pedal travel.

Fitted brake stopper, and now have next to no pedal travel when pressing the brakes.

If your brakes are bled correctly then you shouldn't really have an issue, probably.

I'm going to have to try a brake stopper.

If you had the 2 pots before, you could possible use the latter classic master cylinder i think? They are slightly different, someone else will have to confirm that though.

The wiring plug is different on a later one, I've got one that I was going to fit. Not newage M/C so can't comment on that aspect.

Same amount of wires? Could just cut them and put the old plug on if you can work out what wires are what, or if the wires are coloured.

Thanks

I honestly can't remember, Sam, and didn't have the right plug for the later master cylinder.

The wiring to level sensors is the easy bit. Its knowing the diameter of the cylinder so we can move more fluid (with the same, or less) pedal travel that is the tricky bit...
