Default Brembo's and clearance

Hey,

I'm in a slight predicament, I've just bought a classic type R rally car, I'm going to be fitting brembo's from a newage STi, but I also want to run 17' wheels...

I have just bought a set of Prodrive 17' OZ wheels, with an offset of 53 which i believe won't fit over brembo's without 7m wheel spacers...

the next problem is my car has extended wheel studs,I can't quite get my head around how this can work,or can't it?

cheers,Ben

why not simply buy the correct wheels to suit the Brembo's?? i tend to find the std factory OZ wheels are particuarly strong (not the same as pukka OZ competition wheels) and a set of std STi wheels would be just as strong IMO
far better to source some 17" grpN Speedlines, etc. that will clear regardless..........

as for the studs, the whole point of extended studs on a rally car is to give a far more positive location on the stud?? whats confusing??

basically I need to know the best way to space some 17' wheels to clear brembo's,

obviously they need to be hubcentric ideally for safety

Hello mate...if i read correctly your car already has the extended studs on?

Ive got a bugeye with the OZ 17s on. To make them clear gold brembos i had to get the extended studs (which yours already has) and a 10mm spacer. They fit like a treat with about 2 mm clearance over the face of the calliper

The spacer has to to a hubcentric spacer....i got mine from revoloution via this site.

Hope this helps

MD

Hey md,

Yeah thats correct, with wheel nuts nipped up i have 12m of stud still exposed, your 17' oz's might be a diffrent off set however, mine are 51 i think

Thanks

So as the car is now there is 12mm of stud exposed?....add the 7 mm or 10 mm spacer and ther will only be 5mm or 2mm exposed.

Before i got my sorted Someone suggested i got to Halfords and by a cheap set of spacers...about £10 just to see if the wheels will clear the callipers...might be worth a try?
