Default Toyo R888's thin on the ground - and pricey too

Camskill are out of 'em (17")

Was hoping for 215/40's but Toyo don't make that size, so there's the 45's but no stock 'till September I've heard.

Anyone know where there's a set?

Thanks

888 are short due to the Earthquake in Japan.
My very good mate who runs a high powered track evo swaped to Federal RS-R due to 888s being thin on the ground.
And thinks they are a better tyre than the 888s

So, the 888's are out.

Down to either a Advan AD08 or the RS-R now

RS-R are great tyres for track days and beyond.

I'm with Jura on this, not personally tested them but read great reviews on the RS-Rs, enough for me to consider them as my next set of tyres when I get a set of summer/track wheels

^ But, the T1R has 'great reviews' and even a poll on here saw them getting higher votes than all the other usual suspects... but that is what I j=have on now and I'm not a fan - sidewalls too soft being the biggest issue, with squirmy tread blocks next

The RS-R is a relatively new arrival on the market so was it included in the poll

Doesn't mention the sidewall stiffness, but it does talk about the block stiffness - lifted from mytyres.co.uk...

Semi-slick, sport competition 595 RS - designed for exceptional traction and grip. Cutting-edge technological advances in design, construction, pattern and compounds. Best performance in its class - a street legal competition tyre with the characteristics of a slick. * Evenly dispersed block stiffness, same level of stiffness in the center and the shoulder for stronger grip and traction, prevents irregular wear * Uni-directional V-shaped main groove enhances streamline form and also improves aquaplaning ability at high speeds. Wide-angled grooves increase block stiffness, further enhancing tyre's grip and traction * Engraved pattern name along the groove creates an exquisite product image * Sub-grooves on the shoulder disperse block stiffness, improving ride comfort, grip and traction * Complete block stiffness provides excellent lateral stability in cornering.

How to say.i've run T1R on my wagon,i was not impressed at all,i have now Kumho Ecsta which are much better than T1R...All is subjective(i mean polls)

RS-R and T1R are two different tyres..

About the Yokohama, price is killer for these tyres,i would go rather with Hankook Ventus R-S3

Just don't confuse with SS-595,they're not as good, they're "normal" tyres.

In my view RS-R,thy're last longer than AD08,R888..

I would go with RS-R everytime

Its no compromise,if you are looking for fast road and track day tyres

I've never tried Toyos, never been impressed by Yokos when I had them so my money would hit the Federals

Lasting longer doesnt make them a better tyre though, grip levels and stability do, so I would rather go for a tyre that gives me that than some of the cheaper options available that are not quite up to the standard

Review above. Having never had trackday type tyres, is wet performance a problem usually, or just with these?

Grip level of R888,which OP want is on the the par with RS-R(don't confuse with SS-595),in the wet both tyres are comparable without the doubt, because these tyres(RS-R,R888,T1R) are not good in wet as Vreds.
