Default 225 width tyre

Are 225/45/17 to wide for a classic?? on subaru wheels

Hi

Yes they are too wide. The car should run either 215/40/17 or 205/45/17.
The 225/45s will be too wide and too tall so the overall circumference will be a lot more than the OE size tyres giving you an inaccurate speedo reading and will slow the acceleration down, not to mention the potential catching on the arches.

Does someone have experience with 225/40/18 on 7.5J wheels?

Hi

225/40/18 tyres will fit on a 7.5" wide wheel but 225/40/18 is not the correct size to fit the Classic Impreza presuming that is what you are putting them on?
If it is for a Classic you will need 215/35/18s which will also fit on a 7.5" wide wheel.
