Default Brake Novice Needs You!!

Hello chaps,

3 weeks into Subaru ownership and absolutely loving it, don't want to short the change the old girl by putting shoyte brakes and pads on so advice on the following would be really appreciated. I have a Turbo 2000 Sport Wagon on a W plate.

1) What brand of discs and pads are best?

2) Is it worth sticking bigger discs on?

3) Are drilled and grooved better than standard discs?

Whats your budget?
What type of use eg normal, fast road, track?
How have you found the brakes upto now?
If you go bigger calipers, you may need to go to bigger wheels
Drilled discs can crack and best avoided .
Grooved can work better than flat discs

I'd looking at a £100 a corner max and I'd be predominantly fast road with the occasional track day. Would you recommend a certain type of disc or pad?

Ian Godney does grooved discs with kevlar pads which sound spot on for your needs. I have them on the rears of my WRX. No squeal and certainly improved braking over the OE setup.
Take a look at post 6 in the attached link https://www.scoobynet.com/wheels-tyr...vlar-pads.html
And welcome to Scoobynet, Mate

or just look on the web for Godspeed brakes, for £100 per corner you could get NDX blue and grooved discs all round, or go with the kevlar and save the rest for more mods lol.
What are your calipers like? They also do recon calipers (powder coated as new with new stainless pistons) on an exchange basis at a reasonable price....and yes, welcome
